LG Announcement Ahead of CES: xboom Speakers Get A Whole Lot Smarter

Will.i.am is back at it again, teaming up with LG to introduce a fresh batch of xboom speakers ahead of CES 2026. This time out, he’s taking on the role of “Experimental Architect”, overseeing development, design & brand marketing in collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas legend.

The new crop of speakers are pretty diverse, but AI is the common thread running through all of them. Each one comes with an algorithm that can fine-tune the EQ after analysing the audio content and the space it’s sitting in. Several of the new speakers also feature an AI-assisted ambient lighting system, which adjusts the lighting to match the song playing.

First up is the xboom Stage 501. This one is designed with parties and karaoke in mind – it’s got extra smarts that can ditch the vocals from almost any song and even adjust the pitch to fit your needs. You can run it for around 25 hours on battery, and it’s still good to go even if you decide to plug it in. With dual woofers and full range drivers, this thing packs a punch, delivering up to 220 watts of power, & that five-sided cabinet design lets you position it either vertically or horizontally.

xboom Blast

Then there’s the xboom Blast. A modern boombox with a 99wh battery that’s good for a solid 35 hours of playback. This thing is built to withstand some serious punishment – and has got the hardware to prove it with edge bumpers and a side grip handle, making it easy to lug around.

LG Mini

The Mini is basically just a teeny little thing that you can slot just about anywhere & still manage to get a good ten hours of battery life out of it. There’s a strap to help you stick it in the right spot, and if you’re feeling fancy theres even a built-in tripod mount.

LG Rock

The Rock is just as it sounds – a rock-shaped speaker that’s bigger than the Mini but still small enough to palm in your hand. Battery life is ten hours & the design has been put through its paces with “seven military standards” to ensure it’s still going strong in the toughest of outdoor conditions – making it a more than worthy upgrade to the pre-existing XG2.

As for pricing & when exactly you can get your hands on these bad boys, well, unfortunately, we haven’t got a release date or price just yet, but they will all be on show at the LG booth at CES, & we do know that they’re all due to land sometime in 2026.
