PUBG Mobile might have to wait longer to enter the Indian market unless the government gives a nod.

PUBG mobile has really set up an expectation of its fans in Indian by hinting at a relaunch in the Indian app market a few days back. Due to the ban on Chinese apps in the Indian app market, PUBG was removed from the Play Store app and banned from operating in India, since it was published by a Chinese company Tencent. However, since then PUBG has closed all the operations with Tencent in India and now will be relaunching a new PUBG game themselves with new features and settings.

However, the comeback of the game might not be as easy as it thinks. The earlier reason for the ban of the app was stated as engagement in activities that are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity, defense, and security of the country. Now as per the official statement of the government, “Unless they (PUBG Corporation) address the concerns, it will be difficult to grant any relaxation [to PUBG Mobile].“” Unless the government analyzes the new game and the policies it follows for the Indian users and the data they provide, the game will not be permitted to relaunch in the Indian market.

Regular audits will be conducted to make sure that the user information is not used for any activity which harms national security. Krafton Inc, of which PUBG is a subsidiary, is looking forward to investing around $100 million in India. PUBG Corporation will also set up an India base where it would employ over 100 people to enhance communications and services.
