College Football Re-rank

Alabama Tumbles, Tennessee Joins Top Four

There's a brand-new top four in the USA TODAY Sports NCAA Re-Rank 1-131 after a wild weekend highlighted by Tennessee's memorable win against Alabama.

Tennessee moves up two spots from the previous week to No. 4, continuing its ascent up the 1-131.

Each of the top three teams gets a one-spot boost. Georgia takes over at No. 1 after annihilating Vanderbilt.

Prior to games against Iowa and Penn State to round off the month, Ohio State is ranked second.

After outpacing the Nittany Lions by more than 400 yards on the ground, Michigan jumps to No. 3 in the rankings.

The remaining unbeaten teams in the top 10 are Clemson at No. 5, TCU at No. 6, UCLA at No. 7, the top-ranked team in the Pac-12 at No. 8, Mississippi at No. 9, which has gone unnoticed through seven games, and

Oregon at No. 10, which is looming in the College Football Playoff race.

Not all Power Five contenders fell below the 1-131, including Alabama.

The Nittany Lions drop nine spots to No. 18 after struggling to do anything against the Wolverines.
