Going into space was something that was only reserved for astronauts at one time. However, with the coming of companies like SpaceX, commercial flights for people also became a reality on which company is working and they expect to launch it in a few years as well. One of such examples has been recently set by cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, actress Yulia Peresild and film director Klim Shipenko to shoot the movie ‘The Challenge’. It will be the very first movie that will be shot in space.
The crew took the journey through Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft which successfully docked to the Russian segment of the International Space Station. It is the first-ever attempt to shoot a movie in space and would be a 12-days mission for the crew. The movie crew had to take a year-long training for the same so that they could get used to the environment. The spacecraft took off from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The movie is based on the character of a doctor who goes into space to save the life of a cosmonaut.
This is the first time a project like this has been practically launched and it opens up the chance for a wide variety of other things as well. Commercial space flights are the next big thing that will happen in a couple of years and missions like these are setting up the base for the same. it would be interesting to know the experience of these crew members regarding their shoot on an actual space station.
