Samsung announces the all-new 980 PRO SSD with PCIe 4.0 technology.

Samsung is all set to release its new Samsung 980 PRO SSD this month and it will easily be available for the consumers to buy. Samsung confirmed the details about the device today where the details of the new PCIe 4.0-ready 980 PRO SSD were announced. The company did show a highlight of the device in the Consumer Electronics Show back in January, but then there was no specific information as to when the SSD will be released.

The SSD was very much expected by consumers as it is one of the fastest SSD in the market and is capable of reaching extremely high sequential read/write speeds. IF you are a PC owner and are looking for a super fast and secure way of storing data, then this is the SSD you need to buy. SSD980 PRO is the first consumer PCIe 4.0 SSD by the company. The SSD has a sequential read / write speeds of up to 7,000MB/s and 5,000MB/s, respectively.

The company claims that 980 PRO is twice as fast as PCI 3.0 SSDs and up to 12.7 times faster than conventional SATA SSDs. Adding a PCIe 4.0 SSD to the system would be a big upgrade to the motherboard, which will be compatible with the M.2 slot for giving out peak performance. Even when used with an M.2 port that has PCIe 3.0, the 980 PRO can reach sequential read/write speeds of 3,500MB/s and up to 3,450MB/s for the 1TB model respectively. The SSD will be available in 1TB, 500GB and 250GB models for $229.99, $149.99 and $89.99 respectively.
