Smartwatches and the wearable industry have been at the boom for the last few years. Every smartphone industry has jumped into the market segment to gain a share and most of them have been successful in the same. When it comes to smartwatches and wearables, Samsung has been one of the best companies and also the one to offer some of the finest wearable devices. The company has now officially unveiled Galaxy Watch 4 and the Watch 4 Classic, along with their new generation of foldable devices. Both the smartwatch run on the latest version of Wear OS, which has been created by both Google and Samsung as a new kind of efficient operating system for wearables.
Both the smartwatch has been powered using the 5nm Exynos W920 Dual Core chipset. The Galaxy Watch 4 comes with a rotating bezel and an aluminum case in two sizes of 40 and 44mm. Both the variants have been equipped with a Super AMOLED display and have a protective layer of corning gorilla glass. The 40mm version gets a 247mAh battery and the 44mm version gets a 361mAh battery. They have been equipped with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of memory with 5ATM and IP68 ratings. The smartwatch will come with wired and wireless charging support.
The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic comes in a bigger size of 42 and 46mm and has been made with a stainless steel case. They also come with a Super AMOLED screen and wireless charging support. The unique feature is the BioActive sensor which supports three main functions, which are Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart, and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis. Through this, it can calculate body composition, metabolic rate, skeleton muscle, water and fat percentage in the body, and more.
It can also calculate the BMI(Body Mass Index) in a matter of seconds. It performs all the other functions and can connect to a TV screen to display the data. Both versions of the smartwatch will be available for pre-order through select retailers and markets from August 27. The price for the 40mm version and 44mm version of the Galaxy Watch 4 is $249.99 and $299.99. The price for Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 42mm and 46mm is $349.99 and $399.99 for the LTE version.
