New Macbook Air could come with next-generation M2 chipsets

A few days back, news came in that Apple is looking to develop a new premium Macbook Air with entirely new specifications and designs. It was also said that the company could be launching the new Macbook Air in the year 2022. Now, it has been claimed on Twitter that the new Macbook Air 2022 would come with the M2 chipset which is still under development. The details were leaked on the Twitter account Dylandkt, where it was also claimed that the M1X chipset will only be used in the powerful Macbook Pro variants.

The new Macbook Air will go through a complete design change and will come with multiple color options like the new Mac. M2 is suspected to be a lower-end chipset when compared to the M1X chipset as per the information that has been leaked. However, the previous leaks did suggest that Apple is looking to develop a chip that can be a lot more powerful than the previous generation.

It would be interesting to see if the company is going to release the machine with just M2 or if they are also developing a new and more powerful chipset at the same time. Apple has not provided any information on the same but the launch of the new Macbook Air is almost confirmed through multiple leaks and it is just a matter of time before we see some leaked screenshots and details for the same. Till that time, it will be interesting to see how Apple decides to continue with the future of the M1 chipset.
