Nintendo Switch OLED display is not as durable

Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular and compact gaming systems out there and has a huge dedicated fan base as well. Recently, the company launched a new version of the Nintendo Switch, which did not come with major upgrades over the previous version but has subtle changes which made the device a lot better. However, it seems that the new variant did come with its own flaws. The major upgrade in the new Nintendo Switch was the OLED screen which made the display a lot better and engaging.

However, the OLED screen is what seems to be the problem for the device. As per the reports, the OLED screen used in the device is not durable and can very easily break down. One of the popular YouTubers, JerryRigEverything, recently tried and tested the new gaming console to check how durable it is and how well it can take impacts and scratches. The screen was found to have a plastic layering on the top of the screen for protection which easily made it scratch and increase the risk of damaging the screen.

Since the screen was very easy to scratch, it was estimated that it would not be able to absorb any hard drops as well and might break down easily. One of the solutions suggested was adding tempered glass to the display. However, it is disappointing for the users since they have spent more money on the upgrade and the screen seems to be more prone to damage in the new version.

HTC was one of the most loved smartphone brands a few years ago, where HTC smartphones were known to be one of the best in terms of quality and camera. Although they are not as active in the competition now, they still manage to offer customers great quality products. One of such products that have been recently launched by HTC is the True Wireless Earbuds Plus with ANC. The in-ear design earbuds are not only comfortable on the ears and long time usage but also come with long battery life as well.

The overall design is great and comfortable on ears with soft silicon buds and a very short stem that makes the earbuds lightweight. One of the major highlights of the earbuds is the 86 hours of battery life including the charging case. The earbuds alone can provide usage of around 4.5 hours with active noise cancellation. However, if ANC is switched off then it would provide around 5.5 hours of usage. The earbuds come with IPX5 water and sweat resistance, so using the earphones while working out or in rain would not be a problem for you.

The earbuds have currently been launched in two colors which are black and white. The pricing has been tagged as £69 in the UK, but the pricing for the US and European countries still remains unknown. The company has also not made it clear as to when these earbuds can be expected in the international market, but rumors are that it will take a few months before it comes to other countries.

Twitch has been one of the primary platforms for gamers to live stream games, be it any platform. Microsoft has Twitch streaming integration on Xbox in 2014, where it was directly integrated into the Xbox dashboard. However, the feature was later removed from the Xbox dashboard. However, Microsoft will soon be returning with the same feature again, as it is currently under beta testing. This time, the Twitch streaming interface will be integrated on the Xbox dashboard with webcam support.

The feature is currently accessible for Alpha and Skip-Ahead alpha Xbox testers. The feature can be used to adjust the volume of the game and microphone along with users being able to see the list of viewers and how long the streaming has been going on. The new control also allows the users to switch the resolution and bit rates between 360p at 500kbps up to 1080p at 6500kbps. Now, the users will also be able to use USB-connected webcams on Twitch streaming like the plug and play devices.

Twitch streaming was possible before as well but only inside the app, but now with the integration feature to the dashboard back in Xbox, the streaming on the platform will become much easier. The new Twitch integration will take a couple of months before it is released for the global users and once all the bugs have been removed during the beta testing phase. If you are a Twitch streamer, then this feature is surely going to make streaming Xbox games much easier.

When it comes to Facebook, it is one of the most used social media platforms across the globe, however, in recent times it has been facing a lot of criticism due to lack of moderation on content and other issues. Now it seems that even researchers do not recommend Facebook to be installed on Smartphones. Apple has recently been warned by security researchers about Facebook and has asked them to remove it from their iOS platform. As per them, even when Apple has added a new feature where users can opt-out of third-party apps tracking, Facebook is still collecting location data from pictures and IP addresses.

Facebook has also accepted that they have been collecting the data in this way, but have not explained as to why they are doing so when the users have opted out. As per researchers, Facebook is also using the accelerometer on the iPhone to track the movements of the user and detect behavior during a specific time of the day. It can also detect whether the user is sitting, in motion, or even when they are walking while using the app. As per the report, there is no way through which it can be disabled on the iPhone, and a similar method is also used by other apps from Facebook which are Instagram and WhatsApp.

Facebook did accept that they are using the accelerometer in the iPhone but only for 360-degree photos or for the camera. The only way to disable it is by uninstalling the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp applications on the iPhone. Also, mining data in such a way is against the privacy and security measures Apple has added for the users. Therefore, researchers have suggested Apple remove Facebook and associated apps from the iOS.

If you have been using Youtube for a long time now, you must have noticed that the app tries to show the videos based on your recent selection and choices only. This is great to find the content on Youtube as per your interest, but it also leads to watching similar content, especially when there is a lot of new and fresh content on the same platform. It is why Youtube has added a new feature called the “New to you” tab. The feature was tested earlier this year and is not finally ready to be rolled out to global users on the stable version.

The tab will be available on the homepage of the platform on all devices like OC, mobile, TVs, and more. The feed on Youtube is made up of content for the creators you follow. The “New for you” tab will allow you to explore the content of lesser-known Youtube creators and will feature new content rather than the regular content as per your viewing history. The tab will provide you with content for Youtubers you have never seen before.

The user will have to sign in with the Google account on Youtube to enable this feature. Also, since it is a personalized feature, it might not be available every time. It will appear in the topics bar in the app and in case you do not see the option, refreshing the feed will show it again. If you have still not tried it, then do check out Youtube and have a look at new and fresh content.

In terms of specification, the phone comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ screen that has an A-Si display with a 60Hz refresh rate.
