Apple has always tried to be unique with its products so that they could stand out from the others. One of such aspects for Apple is its chargers and charging ports. Currently, Apple uses a lightning port on their iPhones for fast charging. However, it might change very soon and the company can be using USB-C ports. It has been rumored that the iPhone 14 Pro smartphone might come with a USB-C port for fast charging.

One of the major reasons to do so is the new laws in the European Union, which ask companies to use USB-C ports for charging on their smartphones. Any company not providing USB-C slots for charging might have to take on a heavy penalty. Another reason is that it will help the company in reducing electronic waste and can also reduce the cost in certain aspects. It is expected that only the Pro variant will get a USB-C charging port for now, but it will be standard in all future variants of iPhone from 2023.

It would not only benefit the company, but also the consumers, as most Android smartphones currently use USB-C ports and chargers, and the same will now also work for iPhones. Lastly, it has been a long time since the company has increased the speed of its fast charging technology. Using the USB-C port would allow them to enhance their fast charging technology even further and they could develop which are almost double that of the predecessor. We can expect the company to reveal more information about this in the coming days.

One of the core features of WhatsApp has been the end-to-end encryption which makes the messages safe and no one expects the users are able to read the message. Since WhatsApp is now owned by Facebook, the company has been trying to add the same encryption method to Facebook Messenger and Instagram as well. At the same time, Facebook or Meta has been trying to make cross-platform messages on all three platforms possible in the future.

As per the previous announcement made by Meta, the users could have expected end-to-end encryption on Facebook and Instagram by early 2022. However, as per the new report, the feature has been delayed till the year 2023. Also, from 2023 onwards, the UK’s Online Safety bill will be implemented which requires an online platform like Facebook to keep children away from any harm and take prompt action on abusive content. Due to this, the implementation of the encryption feature has been delayed to 2023.

As per Antigone Davis, who is Meta’s head of safety, the company will be using encrypted and unencrypted data across the apps. The data like account information, reports, etc will be collected from the users to help keep them safe on their online platform. It is not the only feature, Meta has been trying to get from WhatsApp to Messenger and Instagram. Infact, the company has been trying to integrate the messaging services on all three platforms into one and add features like online payments and cross-platform video calls as well.

Microsoft blocks EdgeDeflector on Windows 11 and forcing users to open link on Edge browser

When it comes to an operating system, there is no doubt that WIndows has been the best and among the most popular ones. However, one feature in which Microsoft has always lagged is the web browser. Earlier it was the internet explorer web browser that was replaced by options like Google Chrome browser, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and more. Due to this, Microsoft replaced the internet explorer browser with Edge which was supposed to provide the users with performance, as they expect in Chrome or Firefox browsers. Although Microsoft Edge is better than Internet Explorer and has improved a lot, it is still not a primary choice among users. Most of them still prefer to use Google Chrome.

However, it seems like Windows 11 is having some problems with third-party browsers. As per the latest update, Microsoft has decided to block third-party app EdgeDeflector on Windows 11. The purpose of this app was to allow the users to open the links in other browsers like Chrome, Opera instead of Microsoft Edge. Now, the users will have the option of Microsoft Edge only to open URLs. The block on EdgeDeflector was thought of as a bug earlier.

However, Microsoft has now confirmed that they have blocked it intentionally and future updates will stop all apps from using the Microsoft Edge protocol links. As per Daniel Aleksandersen, who is the developer of EdgeDeflector, the company is now prioritizing ads, bundleware, and subscriptions over users’ productivity. Recently, companies like Mozilla and Brave also announced that they will be developing changes similar to EdgeDeflector, but these will also be blocked in Windows 11 updates in the future.
