It seems like Samsung is on a streak to launch new smartphones every few weeks. This time, the company is expected to launch the Galaxy Wide5 smartphone which would be a budget 5G smartphone from the company. The same smartphone is also expected to launch in the Indian market with the rebranded name of Galaxy F42 5G. The smartphone has already been reported on the GeekBench listing which gives us a good idea about the smartphone specification.

The phone has scored 558 single-core points and 1513 multi-core points. It scored this while running on the Android 11 operating system. The listing reveals that the phone will be powered using the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, which is a 5G compatible chipset. The listing also makes clear that the phone, although a budget 5G smartphone, will have at least 6GB of RAM for faster performance. It will use the Infinity V display from Samsung and will have FHD+ resolution.

However, do not expect an in-display fingerprint on this one as it will be mounted on the side of the power button. The Indian version of the smartphone Galaxy F42 5G, was recently listed on the Google Play Console, which indicates that the phone might be launched by the end of this month. Since both the smartphone listings have similar model numbers, it can be confirmed that both will be the same handset but with different names. While the Wide5 will be launched in South Korea, the F42 5G will be released in the Indian market.

Germany to implement new laws, forcing smartphone makers to provide seven years of updates.

When it comes to the difference between Android and iOS, one of the major ones is the support that comes with it. While Apple is providing 7 years of updates for their iPhone, which is still running in smartphones like the iPhone 6 and 6S, Android smartphones only come with 3 years of updates and four years of security updates. Recently, the European Union has suggested that the laws regarding the same should be changed and all the smartphone OEMs should be made to provide at least 5 years of security updates to the devices, including the reasonably priced spare parts for the same duration of time.

The laws have not been updated yet and will soon be applied in the future. However, the German Federal Government seems to have announced the same plans with an extension of two more years. As per the official details from the spokesperson for Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economics, the OEM’s will now have to face stricter laws where they will have to provide seven years of updates and spare parts with the same price throughout time, without increasing the rates.

The German Federal Government is looking to implement the law as soon as possible and will also reduce the repair time and maximum delivery of the smartphone after repair to just 5 days. The details can change at the time when the new law is implemented. However, these changes are going to be a lot more beneficial for smartphone customers and users.

One of the biggest advantages of Google Drive is the amount of backup it provides with seamless services. The same has also been used to back up files from the system and backup the complete data on the smartphones. However, the services of Google Drive can only be used when the user is online and has an internet connection. In 2019, Google started working on a new feature that allowed the Google Drive users to use file types like PDF, image, and other Microsoft Office Documents and view them even when they are offline.

The feature had been under development for a long time and it has now finally been launched for users. The feature will be rolled out in phases and in a few weeks, it will be available to all Google Drive users. To use the feature, one simply has to right-click on any file or item on their Google Drive and select the option “available offline“. Once done, these can be used on the PC through Drive’s web-based portal.

A similar feature has also been made available for Chrome OS users where they will be able to use Docs, Sheets, and Slides offline through the Files app. Chrome OS users will not have to activate the “available offline” option in the drive to use this feature. The feature will be available to all the Drive users and personal or business accounts. Google has confirmed that the feature will be available to all the users by September 14.

Xiaomi is all set to host an online launch event on September 15, which will most probably be the launch for Xiaomi 11T smartphone series. The company is expected to launch the Xiaomi 11T, Xiaomi 11T Pro, and Xiaomi 11T Lite smartphones. However, there have been videos and online rumors that the company might launch a new smartphone in the event, which will be the Xiaomi Mix 4. However, it was later found out that it was an edited clip from a different video and Xiaomi Mix 4 will not be launched in the same event. It was previously confirmed that the phone has been delayed due to multiple reasons and since the production of the smartphone is at a halt, it might take more time than expected to see the daylight. However, the company will be introducing the new HyperCharge technology in the Xiaomi 11T series which would provide users with blazing charging speeds.

Also, we can expect the company to launch their new tablet device, which they have been working on for a long time now. The event starts on September 15 at 20:00 (GMT+8) and can be viewed on the official website, social media handles, and Youtube. There is still no confirmation from Xiaomi on the number of launches and devices we can expect to see. So we can expect the company to surprise us with something new.

A few days back, a piece of new information about the iPhone 3 came in that the phone might include support for satellite calls. Later it was updated that the satellite calls will only be limited to emergency calls in the area where mobile network is not available. Now, a recent report claims that the new satellite call feature might not be available in all parts of the globe and will only be limited to a few countries. We all know that the iPhone 13 series has had a lot of new upgrades, making it much better than the previous generation.

Be it is the hardware changes, display changes, or addition of new features. The phone is slowly catching up to Android smartphones as well when compared to the premium flagship features they provide. It has also been confirmed that the new iPhone 13 will be equipped with new hardware for satellite communication which assures that the feature will be there. However, there might be a few issues as the addition would be expensive and might cause an issue with the mobile phone carriers.

Also, the feature is not going to be super fast. If one needs to use it, it might take a while before it can connect using the satellite. The phone will be arriving later this month but the official launch date has not been confirmed yet. The phone is expected to bring a completely new experience for the users and is expected to launch at the same price as iPhone 12 series. We can also expect to see the launch of the Apple Watch 7 along with it.
