Apple created a stir in the market for not adding the charger in the iPhone 12 series packaging, for which they were both appreciated and had to take in a lot of hate from customers and other companies. In fact, other companies started mocking Apple for the same and started displaying chargers in the box for comparison. However, the dust seemed to settle in time for Apple. Now as per the latest news, the Brazilian consumer watchdog has fined Apple $2 million.

It is for not including a charger in the newly-launched iPhone 12 series, accusing the tech giant of allegedly engaging in misleading advertising, selling a device without the charger, and unfair terms. Apple already made it clear that the chargers and earbuds in the packaging will be removed due to environmental concerns, but the agency said that Apple did not demonstrate any environmental gains. The agency also cited many other complaints such as “iOS update problems“, “unfair terms” and other issues like “Apple exempts itself from all legal and implicit guarantees and against hidden or not apparent defects.”

As per the official statement from Procon-SP Executive Director Fernando Capez, “Apple needs to understand that in Brazil there are solid consumer protection laws and institutions. It needs to respect these laws and these institutions.” Now the company has been fined $ 2 million for not adding the charger to the iPhone 12 series packaging. We are still to hear a word from Apple on this and we soon expect Apple to make an official statement.

Telegram has been one of the best alternatives for WhatsApp users and has seen a lot of users being added to the platform ever since the issue of WhatsApp privacy policies came into existence. However, this is not the only reason why Telegram is popular. The app has been trying to add more and more features to the apps, even at a faster rate than popular WhatsApp. Now, Telegram has updated the messenger and has introduced Voice Chats 2.0, with rich features for conducting live voice chat sessions in Channels for unlimited participants in a secured and seamless manner.

The feature was only available earlier for the Telegram Groups which was made available in December 2020. The new update also brings recordable voice chats, rich lists of participants, raise hand mechanics, invite links for speakers and listeners, and voice chat titles. In addition to this, public figures will now be able to join voice chats as their channels, and not necessarily with their personal accounts, maintaining their privacy. The channel admins and admins from the public group can host voice chats for millions of live listeners and can record live voice chats as well in form of audio files.

The recordings can be provided to people who have missed the live voice session later. It also provides a Raise Hands feature which allows listeners to speak in the session by virtually raising hands. It will alert the admin and they would be unmuted to speak. Admins can now also make separate links for speakers and listeners to join the session and celebrities can join voice chat using dedicated public channels. The features will be made available to both Android and iOS users.

OnePlus 9 to come with ColorOS instead of HyrdrogenOS in China

When it comes to OnePlus smartphones, there are two different types of OS skins that the phone comes with. While the Oxygen OS is the one you would normally find the phone with, the Chinese version of the phone comes with Hydrogen OS. However, things are going to change with the launch of the OnePlus 9, where the company has now decided to launch the phone universally with ColorOS only. Therefore, even the Chinese version of the OnePlus 9 smartphone will come with ColorOS instead of Hydrogen OS.

The announcement was made by Pete Lau on Weibo, who is the Founder and CEO of the company. He has confirmed that the phone will come with ColorOS pre-installed from the factory and also confirmed that the devices that were previously delivered with Hydrogen OS will continue to get support from the company. ColorOS is the skin that was developed by Oppo and was also used on Realme smartphones previously. It is expected that the phones with ColorOS skin will get more features and much better support as it is a much bigger software than Hydrogen OS.

This also came as surprising news to many as companies decided to move from their own OS to ColorOS. Although the company has not confirmed anything on the use of ColorOS on the OnePlus smartphones in the future, it is expected it will be the way going forward for the company. The OnePlus 9 phone is going to launch tomorrow in the global market and we can expect to see a lot of new things for the smartphone.

WhatsApp testing a new feature which makes listening to audio messages a lot easier

WhatsApp is all ready to roll out a new feature for the users which will make it easier to listen to audio messages on the app. The details were provided by WABetainfo and confirmed that the social media messaging app is testing a new feature that will allow the users to change the audio message playback speed on iOS devices. The user will be able to play the audio messages with 1.5X and 2.0X speeds. Apart from that, the users will also be able to listen to the messages at the normal 1.0X speeds as well.

The feature would be a great addition for slow audio messages or long audio messages that the users want to listen to faster. The feature is added to the WhatsApp beta version WhatsApp version 2.21.60.11. There is currently no confirmation as to when the feature will be finally rolled out in the final version as it is still under testing and improvements are being made.

Another trick that has been added to the feature is that when the users receive the audio message, they need to pick the phone and put it on the ear as if they are listening to a normal audio call. The moment you lift the phone after hitting the play button, the voice message will start playing through the earpiece of the smartphone as if the user is on a voice call and not the speakers. The feature will be rolled out on both iOS and Android devices in the future.
