AMD or Advanced Micro Devices has been making quite a lot of developments in the year 2020 and now is the time for them to showcase all of it in the year 2021. The company has really set some new and high expectations in the last year and the new details coming up has risen them even higher. The company has submitted a new patent to the US Patent Office, which describes a potential GPU chipset design, on December 31, 2020.

The manufacturer has outlined the problematic structure of such a design and explained how it would be possible to avoid them in the future. As per AMD, the problems with the new design are related to the implementation and for now, the design has been kept under the development stage. As per the details in the patent and AMD, “GPU programming model is inefficient to work with multiple GPUs (that also describes Crossfire configurations), as it is hard to distribute parallelism across multiple active dies in the system

It is also complex and expensive design-wise to synchronize memory content across multiple GPU chipsets.” AMD also mentions that the problem can be overcome by implementing ‘high bandwidth passive crosslinks. As per them, the first GPU chipset would be direct ‘communicably coupled’ to the CPU, while the other chipsets would be coupled to the first GPU via a passive crosslink. As per the details in the patent, AMD is looking forward to designing and launching a very powerful GPU that will be breaking all the previous performance and benchmark records.

Xiaomi officially launched the Mi 11 smartphone on December 28, which is the first smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. Now the rumors and leaks for Mi 11 pro have started coming in which shows the phone with many new features and even a new camera setup. The Mi 11 has already scored the highest benchmarks for a smartphone till now and the Mi 11 Pro is expected to surpass that even further.

Although Xiaomi has not yet announced the Mi 11 Pro variant till now, as per what they have been doing in the past, there is no doubt that we will witness the launch of Mi 11 Pro in the future. There is no confirmation on when the mi 11 Pro model will be launched, but it is expected that the phone will be launched or at least announced after the Chinese Spring festival. In the meanwhile, a new set of images have been leaked which shows the rear side of Mi 11 Pro and it seems that the new smartphone will have a new type of camera setup with 120x times zoom as well.

Apart from that, the phone will have almost the same features as that of the Mi 11. The image shows that the camera module occupies a much wider space than Mi 11 and there is a fourth sensor added as well which is the periscope lens. Although, the renders and images have not yet been confirmed yet and there might be a chance that it is fake. However, if it does turn out to be real, then it is definitely going to be worth an upgrade.

Adobe Flash Player has been in existence for a long time in the world of the internet and was used by almost all websites for interactive elements. However, December 31, 2020, was the last day for Adobe to support it and now the company has finally discontinued the Adobe Flash player and has removed all the support as well. The element has been a part of systems since the 1990s to the early 2000s and was used by almost all kinds of web developers in the world.

However, in recent times, the Adobe Flash Player was highly criticized for the vulnerabilities and performance constraints on new technologies. The announcement for the retirement of the Flash player was announced in 2017 by Adobe and it came as a collaborative decision in partnership with Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and Mozilla. Also, the developers were instructed to move the development of interactive features on new standards. Now, the Adobe Flash Player will not receive any kind of new updates or software versions from the company.

Adobe also announced last month that it would start blocking videos and animations running on Flash from January 12. Adobe Flash Player was also used in the Facebook apps and in the top nine flash-based games in China. Adobe did try to optimize the player as per the new standards and device, but it seemed to be an end of the road for it. The end of flash player has impacted companies making flash games like Zynga, whose Farmville game was one of the most popular on Facebook

Xiaomi is all set to release the successor to popular smartphone Poco F1, which is the Poco F2 smartphone. The phone will soon be launched in the Indian smartphone and is expected to be powered using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G Soc. Poco has recently shared a new video on Twitter showcasing the achievements from the last year and also mentioning the Poco F2 smartphone at the end for a split second. However, this is not exactly a successor to the Poco F1. Poco F1 came with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, which was the premium chipset used in premium flagship phones.

In comparison, Snapdragon 732G would only be providing a premium mid-range performance. It is also expected that the phone will come up with an AMOLED screen and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Rumors also suggest that the phone will come with a 4,250mAh battery and reverse charging support. The Poco F2 smartphone that will be launched in India will also be the global version which will be available in other markets for sale. Xiaomi will also be adding NFC support for the global version, but it will be missing in the Indian version.

Apart from these details, nothing much has been revealed about the smartphone but it is expected that the company might bring some new features to this phone in specific. However, it is still surprising to see why the company went on to make a successor of Poco F1 to a mid-range phone rather than a high range premium segment phone. We will have to wait for more details to reveal in the future as we can expect more leaks about the design and specs.

A new DLC is coming for CyberPunk 2077

When we hear about Cyberpunk 2077, two things normally come into our minds. First are the intense gameplay and graphics on the next generation consoles like PS5 and Xbox series X and the equally opposite messy performance on last-generation consoles. The game was one of the most anticipated games of the year 2020 but did not stand much to the expectation. Now the developer’s CD Projekt Red is planning to release a new DLC for the game which should launch in the coming months.

The DLC has been delayed as the developers are planning to launch the patch for PS4 and Xbox users before everything else. The DLC was first heard from the new DLC trailer in December 2020 for the game. The official statement from the developers is, “We’ll first be kicking off our free DLC program in early 2021. Just like with The Witcher 3, expect an assortment of free DLC packs to begin hitting Night City, dropping a bunch of cool stuff that’ll inject even more life into the world of the dark future.” There is no surprise that a lot of expansion packs have already been planned for the game and will launch in the future.

YouTube video

The DLC’s are expected to be substantial, story-driven content that’ll give users tough choices to make through impactful narratives that you won’t soon forget. However, with a lot of performance issues and crashes, we do not expect much from the DLC as it will ruin the actual experience. So unless the game crashes and performance issues have been fixed, the DLC will not be adding any improvement to enhance the gaming experience of Cyberpunk.
