When it comes to charging technology, wired charging has already reached bigger heights with faster charger speeds of up to 12W fast charging technology which is currently being worked on. However, when it comes to wireless charging, companies have been trying to develop it even further to get the same amount of charging speeds as with wired technology. Now Xiaomi has announced its “Mi Air Charge” tech, which can charge the phone from a distance and is very unique in itself. The tech seems to be coming right out of the future and can charge multiple devices at once from a distance with up to 5W charging support.

The company claims that the charging process will not be interrupted by any kind of obstacles like furniture or objects. The company has explained the tech behind it and confirms that it has a phase control array composed of 144 antennas that transmit millimeter-wide waves directly to the phone through beamforming from the large charging base. The base seems to be the size of a small table that you can keep in the living room and will easily blend in. As per the official statement from Xiaomi, “The core technology of Xiaomi’s remote charging lies in space positioning and energy transmission. Xiaomi’s self-developed isolated charging pile has five phase interference antennas built-in, which can accurately detect the location of the smartphone. A phase control array composed of 144 antennas transmits millimeter-wide waves directly to the phone through beamforming.

Also, “On the smartphone side, Xiaomi has also developed a miniaturized antenna array with a built-in “beacon antenna” and “receiving antenna array.” Beacon antenna broadcasts position information with low power consumption. The receiving antenna array composed of 14 antennas converts the millimeter-wave signal emitted by the charging pile into electric energy through the rectifier circuit, to turn the sci-fi charging experience into reality.

When it comes to iPhones, one of the major features that users have been expecting the company to add over the time was in-display fingerprint scanner, which is already available in their rival Android smartphones. Although the feature has still not been added, it seems that Apple might be adding it to their smartphones in the future. Apple was granted a patent in September last year which covers the in-screen Touch ID.

Some of the new reports suggest that this year, the new iPhone series can bring under-display Touch ID and Face ID together. So it can be expected that this year, the iPhone 13 smartphone could come with both these biometric authentication features. The report has been confirmed by both Bloomberg and WSJ, giving a lot of base to these rumors. However, the patent does not mean that the company will be using the feature for sure this year as they already have patents on their name since 2016 which has still not been used in their devices.

The same information was also tweeted by tipster L0vetodream in October last year about bringing in in-display fingerprint and Face ID in the new series of iPhone. Apart from these, the new iPhones series will also see a change in the use of display, where the mini LED technology could be used, similar to what they have been planning for the new iPad that will be launched this year. So we can expect a lot more leaks to appear in the coming months which would reveal more information about the new Apple devices.

After the backlash WhatsApp has been getting due to the changes of privacy policies, the advantage has certainly gone to rival apps like Signal and Telegram. When it comes to the alternatives, one of the most popular has been Telegram and the company knows it. It is why they are now developing a new kind of feature in the app which would allow the users to import their data from WhatsApp to their platform. The new feature has already been released today on the iOS App Store with version 7.4 of the app.

However, moments later another update was released which removed the mention of the new feature, which states that the development is still under development. However, it was mentioned that with update 7.4, users will be able to import chats from WhatsApp, Line, KakaoTalk, and other unspecified apps. The migration does not take much time and effort from one app to another as one simply has to select the “Export Chatoption which will generate a ZIP file from WhatsApp with the entire conversation that can be exported to Telegram through the iOS Share Sheet.

Once done, Telegram will ask which contact or group you want to associate that chat to, and then the messages will be synchronized there for both you and the other person. It seems to be a matter of time before the feature is officially announced by the company and it seems to be a great feature for people who are afraid that the migration would lead to losing their WhatsApp messages.

After the launch of the official Apple website in India last year where Apple would directly sell their products in India, the company had high expectations of Apple’s business in the country. Apple has recently released the numbers and has shown a 60 percent growth, year-on-year in its India business in 2020. However, the growth in the last quarter of 2020 went up to 100 percent on the same basis. Apple has almost doubled their business in the last year in India and seems to be going in the right direction.

As per CEO, Tim Cook, “If you take India for example, we doubled our business last quarter compared to a year-ago quarter.” Although the business in India is increasing, as per him, the business in the country is still very low when compared to the size and opportunity the market in India has. He has also stated that after the online store, the company is also in the process of setting up their own retail stores in the country, which would be a great initiative. It is the first time that the company has doubled the market share in India and recorded such a big growth.

Tim Cook has already confirmed that they are looking to expand its India operations and said that, “There are several markets, as I alluded to before. India is one of those, where our share is quite low. It did improve from the year-ago quarter. Our business roughly doubled over that period of time. And so we feel very good about the trajectory.
