When it comes to foldable smartphones, it is still in a very early stage and companies like Samsung, Huawei, and LG have already gained an advantage over it. However, one question that was in everyone’s mind was whether Apple was also going to release the same kind of device. As per the latest details Apple is already working on a foldable smartphone and it is expected that the company would release it in the year 2022.

The news was provided by Economic Daily News which confirmed that Apple has sent several prototypes to its manufacturing supplier Foxconn for testing. Also, details reveal that the company is aiming to make the device capable of withstanding at least 100,000 folds and is also deciding on whether they will be using an OLED or micro-OLED display for the device. The expected date of the release for the device is September 2022, the month in which Apple normally released their new iPhone.

It is not clear whether the phone will be a different model from the iPhone 14 or the same one. Foldable phones have just arrived a couple of years back and there are still a lot of flaws that need to be corrected as they are just in their second generation of evolution. Apple is known to refine their devices and make them as perfect as possible, which might be a reason they are taking so long to bring out a foldable device. There are currently no details about the prototype they have been working on but we can sure expect to see a great foldable device from the company.

Zoom is one of the most preferred video calling platforms in the world and after the pandemic, the requirement and demand for its services have skyrocketed. However, since the popularity of Zoom has risen, so have the security measures on the platform. Zoom has been trying to develop new ways to secure the platform and users’ details on it. In the same attempt, the company has been now scanning social media posts that contain Zoom meeting links, which are used by bad users to infiltrate and hijack the video session.

The new security measure will allow the participants in the Zoom call to be notified about their meetings in danger of being Zoom-bombed by spam users. The company began testing and implementing the feature this fall. As per the official statement from Zoom, “When the tool detects a meeting that looks to be at high risk of being disrupted, it automatically alerts the account owner by email and provides advice on what to do.“” The technique will scan the video meeting ID’s against any Zoom meeting information that has been posted on any social media website that can be accessed by all.

As per what they said, “If a given meeting is posted about many times or with certain known disruptor hashtags, we may flag it to you as being at high risk of being disrupted.” Zoom has also suggested that the public meetings should be converted to webinars, giving control on who is the participant and who is authorized to chat or use audio and video. If any such issue is detected by the tool, the meeting will be suspended and all video, audio, in-meeting chat, screen sharing, and recording will stop during that time, also the breakout room will end. The company has not explained all the features as if now but is expected to provide more details on the same in the future.

Samsung has been known to provide some excellent phones with new hardware specs and design and this time the company has rolled out a teaser that shows a rollable screen smartphone. Although foldable screens and smartphones are still on their way to become perfect and roll out in huge numbers, that will not stop Samsung from creating new designs and smartphones. Samsung’s vice-chairman Lee Jae-Yong was spotted with a mystery phone that led to a lot of speculations about a phone with a rollable display, during his visit to the company’s research and development center in Seoul, South Korea.

Samsung has always been the one to break the monotony of smartphone design and provide something that is very different in looks and experience for the users. The handset that has been speculated about, has a big screen and front and also a stretchable one. Samsung has also filed a patent for the same and is expected to create a phone using the same technology which could make a 6-inch phone into an 8-inch phone when required. The phone will also be using a flexible plastic panel for the same and something Samsung has expertise on.

However, it has not yet been confirmed by the tech giant. It’s not just Samsung, but even LG is working on a smartphone with a stretchable display with TCL not too far behind. It would be interesting to see how these companies place these phones with foldable or dual-screen phones in the market. However, it will definitely come with a very high price tag.

Google has multiple online services that are used by billions of people worldwide. In an effort to make its services better and take feedback on the app responsiveness, Google often collects data about the apps and users, which would help them to resolve issues and add more features to the platform. One of such services to do that is Gmail, which has millions of users. However, the recent antitrust issues and data privacy issues on multiple social media and online platforms have made the consumer more aware of their personal data being shared with such companies.

Due to this, users will now have the option in Gmail, Google Chat, and Meet to turn off the collection of personal data with just one button. The feature was added to the latest versions of the platform and it will make Google ask for permission to personalize or offer to disable it altogether. By personalization, Google means that it will be analyzing emails and will automatically be categorizing them. It will also add and enhance features like smart typing, quick replies, shopping cards, reservations, and calendar events.

The same data is also used by Google to place relevant ads on the platform as per the user’s choice. However, if the users select to disable the feature of data collection, the services on platforms like Gmail will work in a limited manner. The feature has been specially added for people who simply like to use the basic functionality of the platform, without any enhanced feature and data sharing.
