When it comes to gaming consoles, Xbox and Playstation are the leaders and also one of the most popular choices among gamers. Ever since the gaming consoles have hit the market, there has always been a trend to offer variants of the console like the Xbox One S after Xbox One or the Playstation Slim after Playstation. The companies have always provided a superior variant of their base variant consoles after a few months.

However, this time it will not be the same and experts do think that this time we will not see a new successor for both the consoles for a long time. The reason behind this is the powerful hardware that both the consoles have. Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X are powerful enough to last for next-generation gaming for the next 6-7 years due to which there would be no need for the companies to add new hardware specs on the existing variant and provide users with a new one.

As per experts, any variant they provide will hardly be an upgrade over the original one due to which the possibility of a successor model does not seem viable. Also, price is another major factor behind the same. Since the new consoles are already expensive, it would not allow better competition and sales for both the companies. Also, since cloud gaming is slowly and steadily catching up to console gaming, the companies might want to explore more on that front rather than simply creating a new console.

iPhone 12 Mini is one of the most affordable iPhones in the series and due to this, the variant has become one of the most purchased handsets after its release. However, the iPhone 12 mini users are now facing an issue in the smartphone where they are unable to unlock the phone when they swipe up from the bottom of the screen. The issue seems to be common among iPhone 12 mini users across the world. The recurrent display issue was first reported by users on MacRumors and Reddit initially.

Later the issue was also reported on the official Apple forum where it was reported that there is a touch sensitivity issue on the lock screen, where the screen was not registering any touch input. The customers have also reported that they were unable to press the torch or camera button located at the bottom corner of the screen. Some customers have also reported that the issue seems to get resolved after it is plugged in for charging with the wall charger or touching the frame without the case.

As per the issue reported by one of the iPhone mini users, “My phone screen stops registering touch input randomly only when inside of a case and also with a screen protector on. With just the case on, the screen is fine, and with just the screen protector on the screen works fine. It’s only when they’re combined that my screen goes all janky.” Currently, Apple has not confirmed anything about the issues and it is not confirmed whether the issue is with the hardware or the software. However, it is expected that Apple will soon be providing a fix for the same.

When it comes to video calls, it has been one of the most popular and most used internet services this year due to the pandemic and continues to change the way people used to work. Initially, video calling services were totally free but in the future, all the companies providing such services have decided to provide the same services on the basis of paid subscriptions. Now the problem arises as free users have been provided with limited calling time in one call and for the unlimited calls feature they would have to pay a certain amount.

However, Zoom, one of the most popular video calling platforms has announced that it will lift their standard forty minute limit on the free video calls this ThanksGiving day to make it easier for families to connect with their loved one virtually. The removal of the forty-minute deadline will be effective from midnight on ThanksGiving day to 6 am ET on November 27. The announcement for the same was made by the company on Twitter and it will be applicable for global users. The deadline of forty minutes has been a major restriction, forcing the users to restart the call after the time ended.

The company has reached more than 300 million users and is also working more on improving its security on the platform. When it comes to malware, smartphone apps are one of the most affected and especially the one on Android. Due to this Google Play Store has been regularly auditing and checking the application on its platform and removing the ones with any kind of vulnerability and malware. These audits and checks have increased much more this year and still continues, showing that there has been an increase in the malware infestation of apps. However, to prevent it, Google always suggests users download and install apps from Play Store and not any random website.

But it seems that apps on the PlayStore were majorly responsible for malware-infected apps. Research from NortonLifeLock and IMDEA software institute in Madrid found that Google Play Store is the biggest distributor of malware on Android smartphones. As per the research, the Google Play store accounts for 67.2 percent of malicious app installs on Android phones. The research team took details of over 12 million apps in the last four months to come to this conclusion. Also, various third-party app stores contribute to 10.4 percent of malicious app installs.

The last few months have not only seen an increase in the number of malicious apps but also an increase in new types of malicious apps. Due to this, Google has now been super active in finding such applications on their domain and removing it from the platform. Also, Google has identified many apps in this area that were included on Google Play Store as they were clean and an update to the app is what added the malicious component to it.

A few days back, Facebook-owned WhatsApp added a new feature to their platform called “Disappearing messages” where the messages disappear once the receiver has read it in their chat and closed the window. Similar to that feature, now Facebook messenger also has a new feature called “Vanish Mode“. As per the statement from Facebook, “The feature is best suited for memes, GIFs, stickers, or reactions that are cool when you send them, but you may not want them to stick in your chat history.”

To use the feature, the user will have to swipe up on the phone in the existing chat window, which will take them to vanish mode. Also, if the user swipes up again, the regular chat window will return and the messages will not disappear. Initially, the new feature will be launched in the US market along with a few other countries, and later the feature will be launched in all the other EU countries as well. The same feature has already been implemented on Instagram and WhatsApp in the name of disappearing messages and the same will soon be present on Facebook Messenger very soon.

However, in order to send the vanishing feature in messenger, both the sender and receiver need to have this feature activated. The feature will not work in cases where either one of the parties has not activated the feature. Also, if the person takes the screenshot of the messages, the same is informed to the sender as well.

PUBG Mobile might have to wait longer to enter the Indian market unless the government gives a nod.

PUBG mobile has really set up an expectation of its fans in Indian by hinting at a relaunch in the Indian app market a few days back. Due to the ban on Chinese apps in the Indian app market, PUBG was removed from the Play Store app and banned from operating in India, since it was published by a Chinese company Tencent. However, since then PUBG has closed all the operations with Tencent in India and now will be relaunching a new PUBG game themselves with new features and settings.

However, the comeback of the game might not be as easy as it thinks. The earlier reason for the ban of the app was stated as engagement in activities that are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity, defense, and security of the country. Now as per the official statement of the government, “Unless they (PUBG Corporation) address the concerns, it will be difficult to grant any relaxation [to PUBG Mobile].“” Unless the government analyzes the new game and the policies it follows for the Indian users and the data they provide, the game will not be permitted to relaunch in the Indian market.

Regular audits will be conducted to make sure that the user information is not used for any activity which harms national security. Krafton Inc, of which PUBG is a subsidiary, is looking forward to investing around $100 million in India. PUBG Corporation will also set up an India base where it would employ over 100 people to enhance communications and services.
