WhatsApp adds an FAQ for the newly announced “Disappearing messages” feature.

A couple of hours back, WhatsApp announced their new feature called the disappearing messages, which automatically removes the messages after a period of 7 days. Soon after the announcement, a lot of questions started coming in from the users as to how the feature will be used in the app, and are there any kind of an exception to this as well, etc. The company has now rolled out an FAQ related to this feature which will answer almost all the questions of the users. The official statement on their website states that “You can send messages that disappear on WhatsApp by enabling disappearing messages

Once enabled, new messages sent in the individual or group chat will disappear after seven days. The most recent selection controls all messages in the chat. This setting won’t affect messages you previously sent or received in the chat.” The feature will be accessible to the user only in individual chats, however, in group chats only the admin will have the right to use this feature. Another statement from the company on the FAQ page mentions, “If a disappearing message is forwarded to a chat with disappearing messages off, the message won’t disappear in the forwarded chat

If a user creates a backup before a message disappears, the disappearing message will be included in the backup. Disappearing messages will be deleted when a user restores from a backup“, The company also stated that users can take a snapshot or screenshot of the messages to store them before they disappear. The same feature will also work on the videos and photos with the disappearing message turned on. However, the app will save the video and photos in the device gallery before doing so. You can simply go into a chat and tap on the name of the user, click on the “Disappearing messages” option to enable it.

Micromax launches IN Note 1 and IN 1b smartphones in the Indian markets.

Micromax has finally launched its two new smartphones in the Indian market and at a very competitive rate as well. The two handsets that have been launched are IN Note 1 and IN 1b. The IN Note 1 has been priced at just Rs 10,999, while the IN 1b has been priced at just Rs 6,999. The smartphones will be going on sale on the official website of the company and e-commerce giant Flipkart. The IN series has been powered by the MediaTek processor range, where the IN Note 1 is powered by the MediaTek G85 and 1b is powered by the Mediatek G35. 

The smartphones will share the same battery specifications at 5,000mAh and will be running on stock android OS to increase the performance of the phone. The IN 1b has been created and priced as a budget series phone, due to which it would be powered by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The IN Note 1 will have two different variants, which will be a 4GB/64GB and 6GB/64GB variant. The 6GB/64GB variant will cost Rs 12,999.

The company has announced that the same for the phone will start on November 24 on Flipkart and Micromax website. The specification and the overall package from Micromax do seem to be a great one as they have managed to provide a value for money bundle for users. The company expects higher sales from IN Note 1 and will be looking forward to bringing out a much powerful version of the same in the future.

After the announcement of the Redmi K30S was made for the Chinese market, people were already excited to buy the smartphone and the same showed in its first online sale. The phone was completely sold out within a minute of opening and led to a booking of 100,000 units. The details were made public by Zeng Xuezhong, vice president of Xiaomi, and president of the smartphone department. The phone was made available to purchase on November 1, at the price tag of a discounted price of 2,299 yuan ($343) instead of 2,599 yuan ($388). 

With this, the Redmi K30S becomes the lowest priced phone in the market which is powered by the Snapdragon 865 chipset. The experts did mention that the phone will not be a big hit for the company, but the sales figure broke all the records denying that expert advice. The company has announced that there is a shortage in the supply of phones. However, people who were unable to buy the phone on November 1, will get another chance to buy it on November 4, which would be the second sale for the handset.

The phone has a 6.67-inch full screen with a resolution of FHD+ and is powered by Snapdragon 865. It also uses LPDDR5 memory and a UFS 3.1 flash storage. The phone has 20MP front-facing camera with a triple camera setup of 64MP main camera + 13MP ultra wide-angle + 5MP macro sensor. It comes with MIUI 12 and a 5,000mAh battery capacity.

Facebook extending Dark mode features to iOS and iPadOS.

Facebook has been working on the Dark Mode theme for a while now and has also provided the same for the users on the desktop version. Now the company is testing the same Dark Mode for the iOS and iPadOS models as well. The company is accelerating the rollout for the Dark mode where the users will be able to turn the app dark to match the rest of their iPhone apps following an extended testing period. The dark mode was first introduced in Facebook for iOS in the iOS 13 operating system and has been trying to improve and optimize it for the users ever since. 

In the same effort, the company will be working on adding new features to the Dark Mode, which will be available for the users on the iPhone and iPad. The mode is currently being publicly tested, with more users being able to see the option. The testing has been in effect since June and has only been made available to a small group of users on Facebook. There are currently no details as to what the experience was for the users and the kind of bugs they have faced.

However, it seems like Facebook has already dealt with most of the issue and is now working on adding new features and optimizing the Dark Mode. The Dark mode will not only be available on Facebook, but also on Facebook Lite, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger apps all supporting it in iOS and iPad. You can check the Facebook apps and go to the Settings & Privacy menu, to check if the option is available for you.

Realme X7 Pro 5G receives India’s BIS Certification.

Realme is all set to launch a new device in their X series which is purely based on hardware performance for the smartphone device. As per the new details Realme X7 Pro 5G has recently been spotted on India’s BIS Certification website. The phone Realme X7 Pro 5G was launched last month in the Chinese market, after which rumors were around for a while for a global launch. The details show the model number as RMX2121 and were granted on October 22. Since the device has already passed the BIS certification, it could be possible that the device will be launched soon.

 When it comes to the specs, the phone seems to be a power-packed performance in all categories. If we look at the Chinese version of the phone, we could possibly see a lot of similarities in the Indian version of the phone as well. The Chinese version has a 6.65-inch sAMOLED 120Hz display. It is powered by Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ SoC which will be paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 256 GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

The rear of the phone has a quad-camera setup with a 64MP main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and depth lenses, and a 32MP sensor in the front for selfies. The same camera setup will be part of the Indian version as well. Other features of the phone include a 4,500mAh battery capacity and 65W fast charging support. The phone will also support 4K video recording and 5G support. 

Google Meet to add custom background to the smartphone app.

Google Meet has been one of the most used tools during the pandemic, as it allowed the users to make free video calls. The platform gained millions of users during that time and most of them were professionals, who managed their work through the Google Meet Video calls. At the same time, it also proved a lot beneficial for educators and schools who could take online classes using Google Meet. In the same trend, the company has now added a new feature to Google Meet, which allows a user to add custom background during a video call. The image could be customized and will even allow the users to use one of their images as the background. The feature was earlier made available only to desktop users, but the feature will now be added to mobile devices as well. As per the company, the feature will soon roll out for mobile devices but will take time until the feature could be available worldwide.

During a press conference, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, also stated that Google Meet supports around 235 million conferences daily, as well as 7.5 billion video calls every day. The feature to change the background is going to be a lot more useful for people who are working from home and have to be available daily for official calls through Google Meet.

Apple upscales the order for LiDAR chipset, due to huge demand for iPhone 12 series

It is no surprise to anyone that iPhone 12 is one of the best iPhone series the company has unveiled yet and the demand for the phone has been rising more than expected. A few days back news came that the company will be increasing its production of the iPhone models by more than 2 million units. Now as per the new details, the company is also upscaling the chip orders for iPhone 12 due to increased sales. They will be ordering chips for LiDAR scanners for the iPhone 12 Pro models. 

The chipset used for LiDAR is Vertical-cavity surface-emitting (VCSEL). The move has been made as the pre-order for the iPhone 12 Pro has been increased from 2-3 days to 2-3 weeks, which would be the time the company needs to manufacture those phones. The company is also reported to increase the stock of the iPhone 12 to the maximum as it is expected to be the most sold phone in the series.

Although the company is expected to increase the stock for iPhone 12, it was also pre-assumed that the most sold phones from the company this year will be the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro. The increase in the chip orders and also their production units does seem to be a positive sign for the company and the way they have been planning for the sales of the new iPhone series. It does seem that the company is not going to run out of stock anytime this year.

New Atmanirbhar Apps app launched in India through Google Play Store.

In the same trend, India encouraged its citizens to start supporting local business and buy products that were made in China. A new Atmanirbhar Apps app by Indian short-video company Mitron is available for users to download from Google Play Store. The app will list a variety of homegrown apps from categories like business, e-learning, news, health, shopping, games, utility, entertainment, social, and more. The app itself contains many other apps made by the country which are Aarogya Setu, BHIM UPI, MyGov, PMO India, mPassport Seva, UMANG, and online.

The aim of the company is to promote homegrown apps in the app market, which would encourage people to use apps made in India rather than in any other country. The app is listed on Google Play Store and is 12MB in size. The app will work on all the phones that run Android 5 or above operating system. The app already has more than 1 crore downloads and is a great way to support local app developers and other services of India. The app can easily be downloaded from the Google Play Store and is currently not available for iOS.

WhatsApp adds a new Disappearing message feature.

A couple of hours back WhatsApp competitor Telegram added a whole new lot of features to the app. Now even WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature for their messaging platform which is called a disappearing message. WhatsApp has been focusing on adding new features to its messaging platform for a long time now. However, after the pandemic, when everyone has become more active in messaging apps, the company has been delivering new features very often. 

To this list, they have now added this new feature, which once enabled, will make new messages sent in individual or group chats disappear after seven days. The feature already existed in the beta phase of the app and was being tried and tested for a long time. Now as per the information on the support page, it will be made available to the users and will not affect the previously sent message after enabling the feature. However, one can only use it in individual chats.

When it comes to groups, the feature will only be accessible to the group admin and no one else. The feature will not work if the disappearing message is forwarded, and in case the user creates a backup, or when the user restores from a backup. Also, as per the media download settings, if auto-download is turned on, images and videos will automatically be saved on the device. Currently, the only option the feature has is for seven days and the duration cannot be changed or customized 

Samsung will finally be rolling out their UI 3.0 based on Android 11.

Samsung has finally revealed its one new One UI 3.0 which is based on the Android 11 operating system and is expected to roll out this month. As per the details given by the Malaysian website of Samsung, the new UI will focus more on a cleaner interface for the user, including the Quick panel and notification panel. The company is all set to roll out the new UI 3.0 this month. However, the availability of the UI will not be the same for all the countries and will roll out in phases. 

The company has announced the Quick panel will now allow the users to switch back and forth between music and videos seamlessly and it would also have the new multimedia controls that were developed for the Android 11 operating system. The users will now get the messages and notifications in one panel and the screen UI will be revamped to give a feel of tablet-based UI. The update will also have new multi-window features added to the Samsung devices.

It would also support full-screen video calls with support for emojis to make the interaction more fun. As always, it will also include a whole new gallery of wallpapers and other enhanced security features for the users. The New update will also bring a lot of new features and optimization to the S Pen air commands, which the user will now be able to customize. With the new rollout, we can expect Samsung to bring in a lot of new things that would further enhance the experience with their devices.
