Tencent game Honor of Kings records 100 million active daily users.

While Tencent has been facing a lot of issues in publishing PUBG in many countries and facing a huge loss, the company has also been making major leads in other games published by them. As per the recent news, the game “Honor of Kings“, from Tencent which is their flagship video game has recorded 100 million daily active users worldwide and is soon planning to expand it with a tie-up with British luxury group Burberry. At the same time, the company has also been facing a lot of challenges when it comes to its smartphone version of the “League of Legends” game. 

The game is currently being tested in Asia. As per the official statement from the General Manager of Tencent, “We are going to expand how players can interact with the Honor of King’s world and create a multi-dimensional brand experience that drives engagement both inside the game and outside it. This could include anime, films, music, and even live-action series,“. The company is also planning to launch two other games which will expand the existing “Honor of Kings” game into two other genres, giving the player a wide spectrum to play on.

The game has also been the top-grossing on Android stores with around $240 million of user spending. The company is already working on many new projects and is soon going to launch a few China-specific games in the market as well. With the current development, the company has already represented 87% growth from September 2019.

Google Pixel 5 users facing a battery indicator bug.

A while back Google introduced their all-new Google Pixel 5 smartphone which was supposed to be their best smartphone till not. The phone had a lot of positive reviews and a great response from Pixel fans. However, the phone now seems to have a bug that affects the battery indicator. As per the reported issue, the battery indicator on many Pixel 5 devices seems to get stuck and not change at all. This led to great confusion for users as they were unable to see the amount of battery that was left on the phone while using it. 

However, the issues have been acknowledged by Google after multiple users of Pixel 5 reported it. It seems that Google will soon be forwarding a patch that will fix the issue permanently. The bud made the battery indicator work in weird ways for users. As per one user of Pixel 5, the battery indicator took an hour after which it dropped from 100% to 99%. The bug made a lot of customers appreciate the battery backup of the Pixel 5 smartphone which could have been due to software optimization, but soon they found out that it was only due to a bug.

As per the statement from an expert on Google Forums, “The team is aware of this issue and a fix will be rolling out soon in a future Android update.  Your battery is charging, but the indicator may be stuck.  If you restart your phone and plug it into the charger again, the battery level should quickly rise to the correct level.”

Apple adds a new physical button to the iPhone.

When it comes to an iPhone there is a limited number of physical buttons on the device that can be used for specific functions. However, it has now added a new hardware button to the device, which was still not discovered by the users. With the update of iOS to version 14, the company rolled out many new improvements and optimizations, along with a new hardware feature. There isn’t any kind of additional hardware button on the phone if you are currently searching for any. 

However, the entire back panel of the new iPhone has now become a touch-sensitive zone because of the new Back-Tap feature. The back panel can now be used as a button, which will be activated by a tap. There are two different types of tap function which includes a double and triple tap. There is a list of things that you can select as an action for both of them. As an example, you can use the double-tap on the back panel to simply lock your phone.

Apart from this, there are a lot of other features on the list that you can add to the tapping feature. There is no specific place on the back panel that you need to tap on as the entire back panel will record your actions. The feature can also be used to operate some of the apps, with support for more coming in the future. However, if you do not wish to use the back tap feature on your iPhone, you can also turn it off.

New features added to the Telegram app in the new updates.

Telegram has been adding a lot of new updates to its app over the time of the last few months, making it more feature-packed against its competitor WhatsApp. It is currently one of the best messaging platforms for power users and is the most globally available app as well. The company has now added another set of useful features to the app, which is going to make the app more user friendly. 

One of those features is Pinned messages 2.0, which would allow the user to pin multiple messages in the chat at one time. They can also switch between them by tapping on the top bar of the chat window or view all of them on a separate page by tapping on the new button located at the right side of the top bar. The feature will work on group chats, channels, and individual chats as well.

Another great feature is the Live Location 2.0 which allows the users to set up an alert when they come closer to the friend who has shared the live location. Also, the icons on the map now show in which direction the user is facing. The playlist is another feature through which you can share multiple songs together with the other users on chat, and can be played using the inbuilt media player.

Channel Post Status is a feature for admins to check the stats of individual posts in the channel as well as a list of public channels to which a post was forwarded to. Apart from these new animations and emojis have also been added through an update, which would make interaction with other users more enjoyable.

Micromax did make the announcement that they will be re-entering the Indian smartphone market with a new affordable and high spec device soon. The smartphone is all set to release on November 3 but the company has already shared an official teaser for the smartphone as well. The hardware specs are still not confirmed by the company but they’ve promised that they will be providing a power-packed phone at an affordable range. The alleged name for the smartphone to be released by the company Micromax In 1 and 1A. 

It is expected that the In 1 will have a Mediatek Helio G35 processor while the other model will have the G85 processor. Now the Youtube video tease brings a look of both the smartphone along with a popular Youtube “Technical Guruji” and the Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma. Although they have not confirmed anything in the video and were only holding the phones in their hands for a preview of its design. The model with the G85 processor seemed to have a quad-camera setup on the rear with a 48 MP primary sensor.

Currently, we could only see the Green and White color for the smartphone in the video, with more expected to launch in the November event. After the video was released, another image was officially launched on their Twitter page, showing three smartphones, which could hint at the launch of another, totally different device. More details can be expected from the company on November 3, when they will be launching the smartphones officially.

PUBG to exit the Indian market completely, bids goodbye to the users.

After the ban of over 100 Chinese apps in India, including the popular smartphone game PUBG, people were really disappointed. However, later there was news that the company is looking for new publishers of the Indian domain to continue working in the Indian market. However, it seems like it is the end of the road for the game. PUBG Corporation has announced that it will be shutting all its services related to the game in India. 

As per their official announcement on the website. “To comply with the interim order of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology dated September 2, 2020, Tencent Games will terminate all service and access for users in India to PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG MOBILE Lite (together, “PUBG Mobile”) on October 30, 2020. The rights to publish PUBG MOBILE in India will be returned to the owner of the PUBG intellectual property.”

The PUBG corporation also mentioned that securing the details of their users is one of the top priorities for the company and they have always complied with the applicable data protection laws and regulations in India. They also thanked all the Indian users for their continuous support for the game. However, does it mean that we will not be seeing any more of PUBG in India? It does not seem so. Although the company has cut ties with Tencent in India, they are planning to provide a new experience to the Indian users in their own way. It might be possible that the company will be publishing their game themselves in the future for the Indian market.

Apple iPhone 12 series can only run 3 hours of gaming.

With the launch of iPhone series 12, the company confirmed that they have reduced the battery size in the phone to make it slimmer and have made a lot of optimizations in the software and hardware to drain less battery, giving a better battery life. However, when users started using the phone, it seems that the iPhone 12 battery lasts even less than the iPhone 11 battery. Also, when it comes to 3D games, which the phone is capable of doing, the battery performance degrades to a new low.

When tested with 3D games on the iPhone 12 and Pro models, the phone only lasted for 3 hours and 1minute, while the same on iPhone 11 Pro lasted for 6 hours and 38 minutes. On the same platform, the iPhone 11 lasted 7 hours 37 minutes, and even the iPhone SE 2 lasted for 5 hours. When we compare the gap between the models, it seems that the gap is too big. Similarly, when we look at an Android smartphone like Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, it can last around 10 hours playing 3D games.

When it comes to browser runtime, both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro gives a time of 12 hours and 33 minutes. Also, while streaming videos from platforms like videos, you will get the time of 6 hours and 38 minutes in the iPhone 12 and 10 minutes more in 12 Pro. The results clearly show that the battery performance in the iPhone 12 series is a downgrade from what it already was and they were mostly betting on the power-efficient A14 Bionic chipset to increase the battery life.

Google finds a new flaw in Windows Kernel Cryptography Driver, which is being exploited by hackers.

It seems that Windows operating system bugs are not looking to end anytime soon for the user. This time Google has shared the details of bugs in Windows Kernel Cryptography Driver, which is currently being exploited by the hackers. The Project Zero team has already privately shared details of the security flaw with Microsoft a little over a week ago, but now that it is being actively exploited the company has gone public. The flaw has been tracked with the code CVE-2020-117087 and will not likely be addressed by Microsoft in a couple of weeks.

As per the official statement from the Project Zero page “The Windows Kernel Cryptography Driver (cng.sys) exposes a \Device\CNG device to user-mode programs and supports a variety of IOCTLs with non-trivial input structures. It constitutes a locally accessible attack surface that can be exploited for privilege escalation (such as sandbox escape)“. The team made Microsoft aware of the flaw back on October 22 and is still being used in wild. As per the team, the flaw should be resolved and closed within 7 days from now.

However, it does not seem that the flaw will be resolved in seven days. The company is currently working on a fix and is ensuring to develop the update in a way that it protects the user with minimum disruption to their usage. However, the last few months have been really serious for Microsoft as more and more bugs and security flaws are being unwrapped by research companies.

Asus to launch RTX 3080 and other series of graphics cards with water cool upgrade.

The RTX 3080 has been one of the best graphic cards in the market for a long time and the kind of performance it provides is a dream for every gamer. One of the more popular products in it was the RTX 3080 by Asus which had a lot of optimization and peak performance for the system. Now Asus has made a new announcement as per which the company is partnering with EK to produce GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards with liquid-loop cooling blocks built-in, offering out-of-the-box liquid cooling for custom-built rigs. The company confirmed that it will be adding Geforce RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 3090 cards with an integrated water block, which will be designed and manufactured by EK.

As per their official statement, “These high-powered solutions are elegantly combined to have a single-slot footprint, which enables compatibility with a wide range of chassis, including small-form-factor builds,” Asus said in a statement. ASUS EKWB GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards are perfect for seasoned veterans who want a reliable all-in-one bundle for their latest build and for newcomers looking for a smooth start towards building their first custom loop.”

There is currently no information on the pricing of the graphic cars and it is expected that the graphic cards will be avaialbe in the market by the second week of November. If we take an estimate of the pricing, the EK water block usually sells for $99 to $130, so we can expect the graphic cards to sell at an extra $100 price tag than normal.

Samsung to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 2 Aston Martin edition in the Chinese market.

Samsung has launched the all-new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 Aston Martin edition in China, which will be a limited edition smartphone. The company has already launched a Thom Browne edition previously, which was based on a New York fashion house. This time, they have released the special Aston Martin edition only in the Chinese market. The photos of the limited edition phone were posted on Twitter by the user “Ice Universe“. 

The images show that the phone will be coming with a large gray packaging box with Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G and Galaxy Watch3 written on the top. Therefore, it could easily be made out that this box will feature a Galaxy watch 3 instead of Galaxy Buds Live. The box has Tmall written at the bottom, which clearly indicates that the phone will be sold by the retail giant in the Chinese market. The phone is not yet listed in the Tmall product list, but will soon be in a couple of days. Inside the box, the phone does not come with any kind of customization as in the Thom Browne edition. 

The phone comes in Mystic Black color and has an Aston Martin Logo. The box also includes an organic Aston Martin exclusive leather cover and a polo T-Shirt in navy blue, a black and white baseball hat, and the smartphone. The expected price of the smartphone should be less than the Thom Browne edition however, there is nothing specific in the box that would show that the phone has been specifically made for Aston Martin fans, except the logo.
