Microsoft did not have a spectacular past few weeks when it comes to games and the excitement related to the next generation consoles. The last few weeks had a lot of information leaked about their Xbox X series, the new controller, and so on. There was also news where it was confirmed that Halo: Infinite will be delayed till 2021, and there was a doubt among many whether the company will be able to compete with Sony and create good Xbox exclusive games for the users.

However, new news that has come up, shows that Microsft is not behind in gaming category as well. The Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 was released a few months back and now has become the highest-rated game of the year. The game is not similar to any kind of conventional game that users play. It is simply based on the aircraft simulation and provides a great understanding of the mechanics while playing the game. The new 2020 version of the flight simulator provided much better graphics and a lot of added features to the game.

Although it hs a specific niche of the audience, it has still managed to become one of the highest-rated games of the year. It seems to be a great achievement for game developers at Microsoft and is also a great motivation for gamers. It seems to be a great comeback for the company and an assurance that they can create some praiseworthy games in the future as well. For now, Microsoft Flight simulator can be purchase with a lot of add-on features.

Internet Explorer is one of the oldest browsers ever and has been a part of Microsoft Windows. However, with the introduction and evolution of browsers such as Mozilla, Google Chrome, Opera, and others, Internet explorer lost its appeal as it was a lot slower and less efficient than other browsers. Due to the same reason, Microsoft launched a replacement for the same five years ago, which is known as Microsoft Edge.

Now Microsoft has decided that the 365 apps and services will no longer support Internet Explorer from August 17 next year. Microsoft is asking the users to download the Chromium-based Edge browser instead of Internet Explorer which will support all the latest apps and will have Microsoft Support. Microsoft has also revealed that from November 30 this year, Microsoft Teams web app will no longer support IE 11 as well.

After this, the customer will have to upgrade to the new browser. IE 11 was launched in 2013 and has been used by many users ever since. Microsoft does not seem to be interested in a new version of IE anymore and will focus more on Microsoft Edge. Microsoft Edge can meet the new standards of the browser industry much better than IE and provide a better and engaging online experience.

Microsoft did mention that it might be difficult for some customers to move from IE, however, the experience that they will get through the Microsoft 365 on new Microsft Edge will be much better and easier for them. Microsoft has also announced that they would end the support for the Microsoft Edge Legacy desktop app on March 9, 2021. However, the apps and sites created using the same will continue to work as usual and even incompatibility with the new Microsft Edge. The Microsoft team will keep providing support for that.

After removing Fortnite from both Google Play Store and App Store, Epic Developers have been in a constant battle of words over the dominance that Apple has over the market. The issue started when Epic Games added a direct payment option on both their iOS and Android platforms. Since Google Play Store and App Store charges a 30% commission on the in-app purchases, they only prefer using their own Apple and Google payment methods in the app.

Due to the payment options issue, both the platforms removed the app, making it only accessible from the Epic developers website. The issue was also openly supported by Facebook, where Facebook also agreed about the monopoly of Apple. Now another detail has been provided by Epic games that Apple has been threatening to terminate the Epic games developer account by August 28, which would lead to the company being cut off from iOS and macOS development tools.

The account termination notice was sent as per the antitrust feud between the two companies. However, Epic Games have mentioned that they have appealed to the court to stop this retaliation. As per Apple, the app from Epic game developers was found to be violating of many other terms under the Apple Developer Program membership, which if not corrected in 14 days, can lead to account termination.

The same information has also been given by Apple in the court filing. Cutting of Epic’s access to the Mac and iOS development tools will affect all the games and apps that use Spic’s Unreal engine. As per Epic games, the decision o termination should be put on hold or stopped unless the issue is resolved in the court.

It seems like ever since Apple has decided to move production and assembling from China to India, even other countries are looking for a better source for production. It is rumored that even Samsung might move a major part of the smartphone production from Vietnam and other countries to India, with a production estimate of over worth $40 billion. Samsung is likely to move the production units to India for manufacturing smartphones under the Production Linked Incentive scheme that the country is providing.

The decision can impact existing capabilities across various countries like Vietnam, which is already a production hub for Samsung. Vietnam is second to China when it comes to smartphone production and most of the smartphone companies are looking towards other countries which can serve as a good option for production plant setup. As per the sources, the PLI scheme could help Samsung to save a very big amount. Samsung currently makes almost half its production in Vietnam. With this move, the company will join the tech giant Apple, which is also in the process of shifting a major production line in India.

The decision of smartphone companies to shift in India is all due to the benefits scheme of PLI which the government is providing and it seems that even more companies are looking forward to this opportunity and are in talks with the government about the benefits they will receive. During the pandemic stage, the companies have understood that they need to have alternatives for their production plants, as situations like these can bring the production to halt, as what happened in China.
