Realme all set to launch many new products on October 7 event, including the new Realme 7i and a 55-inch TV.

Realme is all set to launch a number of new consumer products on October 7 which is the date for its online launch event. The launch event will witness the launch of the all-new Realme 7i, the 55-inch LED TV, and a special leather edition of the Realme 7 Pro. The company confirmed the event through its official Twitter channel, where they will be launching many more products apart from the one mentioned above. The live event will be streamed on all the social media handles of the company, including Youtube, on October 7, 12:30 PM IST. 

The company has made it clear that it will be launching a lot of other IoT products in the event. One of the smartphone launches, which is the Realme 7i, was first announced in Indonesia, where the phone was launched for around Rs 15, 800, and had a 6.4-inch screen with an HD+ display and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The phone was powered by Snapdragon 662 and was paired with 4/6 GB RAM and memory up to 128GB. The phone also had a good battery of around 5000 mAh. 

Among the other products that are expected at the event, we can see Realme Buds Air Pro, Watch S Pro, a Powerbank, new Wired earphones, and an Electric Toothbrush. The event will also be a great platform for the company to launch its new 55-inch smart TV with 4K resolution and HDR support. The display of the TV will have Spectral Power Distribution and has TUV Rheinland certification, 1.07 billion colors, and more.

The Farmville game on Facebook will cease to exist after December 31, 2020.

Facebook is one of the most popular social media platforms for the current generation. One of the most important parts of Facebook which has helped people in connecting with each other over years has been the online games that the platform has. One such game that has been an icon and has still had millions of users is Farmville. Farmville has been one of the iconic games that made many users join Facebook in the first place and also helped people to connect over the game by sending in-game help. 

However, the company has now announced that the game will no longer be available for users after December 31, 2020. The reason behind this is that the company is ending the support for Flash games on the social network platform. Since Flash player was controlled and managed by Adobe and it will be killed by them at the end of the year, the platform will not be supported on Facebook and even browsers for playing flash videos. Farmville was one of the games for Zynga which helped the company to make its name in the market of online gaming. 

As per the official announcement from Zynga, “Following an incredible 11 years since its initial launch back in 2009, we are officially announcing the closure of the original FarmVille game on Facebook“. The game had more than 30 million users at its peak but lost its charm due to the launch of better online games in the last few years. However, the company has made it clear that users can still play Farmville 2 on mobile and they will soon be launching Farmville 3 for mobile worldwide. The company has also made sure to add a lot of new features to the game to make it more enjoyable before it is shut down on Facebook.

Google Stadia bring improvement on Android TV but is still far away from launch.

Google Stadia is one of the most anticipated projects from Google which re-defines the concept of online gaming on mobile devices. It has been a very long time ever since Google Stadia was announced and it has led to many other competitors jumping into the same market and trying to create something similar for the users. However, even Google has not been able to finish working on making Stadia complete products and it seems that the platform will take time to be commercially available for consumers worldwide. 

Google has been trying to improve the performance and features of Stadio on Android TV for months. There have been major improvements on the same but Stadia is still far from launch for users. Stadia v2.36 started rolling out through the Google Play Store today and with it, there are some exciting changes behind the scenes. The new update has a voice in captures, referral benefits, family sharing features, and a lot more. The new changes to Stadia have made the streaming of games in 4K much easier and smoother on supported hardware. 

Also, it has become much easier to Sign in to the platform which used to take a lot of time before. Also, the laggy menus have had some improvements in the newer version. The performance improvements are minor in the new update but things are improving. If we look at Google Stadia in the current condition, it is nowhere ready to launch on Android TV as it is still laggy and does not have good performance.

Apple and Epic games go to the Jury, with a brutal hearing for Epic Games.

The feud between Apple and Fortnite was the talk of the town last month. However, if you think it has cooled down or is over, then you thought wrong. The case could now further go in front of the jury and now even Google is breaking its silence over the issue. The whole issue started when Fornite was removed from the App Store and Google Play Store for adding their own in-app payment system, avoiding the 30% commission from Apple and Google.

Recently, the case between Apple and Fortnite had its first hearing in presence of Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers. The decision of removing the game from the App Store still remains as it is, but the antitrust case is what both the company is working on. The judge in the antitrust case was very skeptical about the charges that have been filed by Epic Games. As per the statement from the judge, Epic lied, and, regarding the separate payment apparatus Epic insists on calling a “hotfix,” she also said, “Lots of people use hotfixes. That’s not the issue. The issue is that you were told, and you knew explicitly because of your contractual relations, that you could not have that, and you did. It’s really pretty simple.” 

The hearing did makes it very clear that the judge was very skeptical of the claims that Epic games were making and the hearing was a brutal one for the company. Meanwhile, Google is also trying to get involved in it as they have been trying to follow the same policies as Apple does. Google did make it clear that they are not going to back down on the 30% commission on the PlayStore, but will allow third-party app store in Android 12.

Google Meet adds Noise cancellation for Android and iOS users, along with attendance features.

Google Meet has been one of the most important video calling tools for both business organizations and educational institutes, enabling the users to communicate over calls and continue with their work. Google Meet shared a new feature with the desktop users in June, where they added noise cancellation to filter out disruptive sounds in the calls. The same feature has now been rolled out for Google Meet users on the smartphone, both Android and iOS. 

The new feature will not only make video calls much more clear but will filter any kind of disturbance in the background. Google Meet has also added a new feature for educational institutes which allows adding the attendance reports educators. The feature, which is called the background blur can filter out background noise to make calling possible from any environment. Noise such as keyboard typing, doors opening and closing, and construction noise from outside can easily be filtered out with the new feature. 

The feature is also a part of all the services which are provided in the GSuite Enterprise and G Suite Enterprise for Education customers, but not G Suite Basic, G Suite Business, G Suite for Education, or G Suite for Nonprofits. The new feature will be rolled out today for smartphone users. The second feature of adding attendance will be available for Google Meet calls between 5 to 250 member calls and will contain the details like name, email (or obfuscated phone number), join/exit time, and length. The feature will be made available to more users in the future.

Microsoft Office 365 locks out users out of account in the US, impacting business across the country.

Microsoft Office 365 is one of the major business tools that is used across the US by various companies and professionals. However, on Monday, a problem with Azure Active Directory appears to have locked users from across the U.S. out of their Microsoft Office 365 accounts. It leads to a total halt of many businesses the entire day. The Twitter feed of Microsoft made it official and stated that “We‘re investigating an issue affecting access to multiple Microsoft 365 services. We’re working to identify the full impact and will provide more information shortly.” 

The impact was not only seen on the business tools provided by Microsoft Office 365 but has also impacted Outlook mail services. This is the message that people are able to view on the page where the issue is reported on the official website.

“Affected users are encouraged to keep existing sessions going and to avoid re-authenticating to Microsoft 365 services. Any Microsoft 365 service that leverages Azure Active Directory (AAD) authentication may be impacted by this issue”, the page reported.

It is one of the major outages that Microsoft has faced in a long time and due to which all the business operations in the US have come to a halt. The issue is still persisting and users are still unable to login to the cloud account for Microsoft. The company is already working on the issue but has given no timeline as to when the issue would be resolved and what was the reason behind it.

OnePlus will not be launching OnePlus 8T Pro this year.

It has been made official and seems to be disappointing news for OnePlus fans. the company has confirmed that it will only be launching the OnePlus 8T flagship phone in India on October 14. After the launch, the phone will be made available to the Chinese market the very next day. However, the company will not be launching any OnePlus 8T Pro model this year, and it was confirmed by OnePlus CEO Pete Lau officially on Weibo. The reason for skipping the model this year is simply stated as no upgrade was required for the previous model. 

He said that since there is no room for any upgrade, the company has decided to skip the OnePlus 8T Pro model this year. However, the OnePlus fans do not need to be disappointed by it as the company has already planned for a big surprise for them, which would be worth the wait. Based on this statement, the company could be working on a lot of features this year, which will come as something new in the OnePlus 8T model. Some of the speculated features are the USB-C to USB-C cable charging, which will also increase the charging speed of the phone. 

The company is also expected to launch the Bullet Wireless 3 headphones along with the OnePlus Buds Z. What is going to be very unique is the addition of a new laptop to the OnePlus product lineup this year and a device which will be similar to a gaming console. There is a lot on the OnePlus list and it could be just anything that they can surprise the users with.

Mi to launch smart speaker, new fitness band, and watch in a live event today.

In a special digital event from Mi that will be held today, people are expecting a lot of new products to be launched, especially for the Indian market. One of the highly expected products among these all is the new smart speaker range from MI, which will probably be called the Mi Smart speaker. The Smart Living 2021 event, which will be held today digitally, will witness many new products for the Indian markets. 

One of those products is the Mi Smart Band 5 which will be the successor to Mi Band 4 which has been very popular in the Indian market after it was launched with a colored display. Another product in the similar category is the Mi Watch Color, which can be launched in India under the name of Mi brand or Redmi. Apart from these products, the Mi fans are highly expecting a new Smart speaker from the company which will most probably be supporting Google Assistant and will act as a smart speaker. 

It can be similar to what you expect from Amazon Echo or Google mini smart speakers. The event will be held at 12 PM IST. The live stream can also be checked out at the official Youtube and other social handles. There has already been a lot of news about the band, watch, and speaker in the past and the company has also given a teaser on the website for the same. Just a few hours from now the products will be launched with official specs.

There has been a lot of fuss about how government agencies were able to access end-to-end encrypted chats in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. Since it includes the name of many known celebrities, WhatsApp users in India are very curious to know as to how the government agencies could get all the past chats for the accused and whether the end-to-end encryption for Facebook makes any sense if the chats are easily available to any agency. End-to-End encryption basically means that the chat between two users on WhatsApp is the only one who can access the messages. 

Apart from them no one else can access it or hack it, not even WhatsApp themselves is allowed to view the messages between the user. People were assured about the feature on the app and believed it works. However, after the government agencies got their hands on new and older chats of Rhea Chakrobaty and Deepika Padukone, the users have been made to think that the end-to-end encryption might not be that secure after all. WhatsApp has already made it clear that the chats cannot be accessed in any case unless you have the access to the device. They made it clear that since they themselves cannot access the chats of the users on their platform and cannot retrieve the deleted chats, there is no way that the chats have been recovered without using the device. 

The company has made it clear that they follow all the guidelines that are necessary to maintain the security feature on the apps and also encourages users to use high-security passwords, biometrics, face recognition to protect their data stored on WhatsApp. The question still remains that how were the chats exposed to government agencies and no one seems to have the correct answer to it, leaving the WhatsApp users in confusion.

Facebook fixes a bug on Instagram that turns the phone into a spying tool.

It seems that Facebook has been trying to hide a lot of bugs in the past for Instagram that has been resolved earlier this year. A few days back a bug was found on Instagram that allowed hackers to access the account they take the control over. The bug was resolved earlier this year. In the past, there were many other reports of many such bugs that were found and reported to Facebook for Instagram and resolved earlier this year, but they were only revealed months after they were resolved. 

Now as per new details Facebook has fixed another bug that turns the phone into a spying tool through the Instagram app. The bug allowed attackers the ability to take over a victim’s Instagram account and turn their phone into a spying tool, simply by sending them a malicious image file. When the image is saved and opened on Instagram, it allows the hackers to fully exploit the user’s phone and gives them access to the messages, images, contacts, location, camera, and technically all the data on the phone. 

The malicious image is sent through email, link, or WhatsApp after which once they are opened on Instagram, they infect the user’s phone. It was found that the bug has a remote code execution (RCE) that allows an attacker to take over a computer or a server by running arbitrary malicious software. The bug was named as “Integer Overflow leading to Heap Buffer Overflow” and was patched six months ago. Therefore, since most of the users are now using an updated version of Instagram, you will probably not face the issue.
