When it comes to programming languages one of the most popular among them is Python, and so is Guido van Rossum, who is the creator of the language. In a recent update, the creator of Python, Guido van Rossum has come out of retirement and has joined Microsoft. The 67-year-old Rossum who went into retirement last October after working six and a half years for Dropbox has joined Microsoft, as he found retirement “boring“.

When Guido van Rossum started working on Python in 1980, he never knew that it would become one of the most popular and widely used languages in the world. As per him, he will be joining the Developer Division at Microsoft. Currently, there does not seem to be an aim that Microsoft and van Rossum are looking forward to or have planned to work on. As per van Rossum, he is not working on anything specific in Microsoft as if now and there are a lot of options for him to choose from. As per his statement, “there’s lots of open sources here.”

As per the latest details, van Rossum will continue to work on Python and make it better in the future. However, Microsoft will surely use this opportunity to show its commitment to the Python community and create something more out of the language. For now, van Rossum is simply trying to figure out a project in Microsoft to work on and also on improving the Python language in various ways using Microsoft resources.

When it comes to iPhones, Apple has been trying to add more and more features with a more powerful chipset every year. One of the major changes in the iPhone has been in terms of design, camera, and other features. However, one thing that Apple has been trying to decrease every year is the battery capacity. With each year, the battery capacity either remains the same or is decreased to reduce the battery size and make the phone a lot slimmer.

However, even with the smaller battery, Apple has been successful in increasing the battery life for the phone, with optimized and seamless integration of hardware and software. As per the latest details, the battery in the next version of the iPhone could even go smaller than before. All thanks to the new battery technology called soft board batteries. As per analyst Ming-Chi Kyo, Jialianyi company is expected to obtain about 40-50% of orders for battery soft boards for iPhone 13 and 13 mini.

We predict that iPhone 13 will be the first iPhone model to adopt battery soft board technology, which will help save internal space and reduce costs. These types of batteries have fewer layers and could be minimized to a smaller size or provide more capacity in the same size as earlier batteries. Also, it is expected that Apple is going to use a more power-efficient display which is further going to save on battery life. One thing is clear for sure the iPhone 13 is going to bring a lot of changes when it comes to power consumption and battery life.

Realme has recently teased the arrival of the X7 series in the country through its official Twitter channel. The details were shared by CEO Madhav Sheth who revealed and confirmed that the phone will come into the Indian market in 2021.

A few days back  CEO Madhav Sheth was asked about Mediatek chipsets being used in their future smartphone. In return, he also asked people for an opinion on Realme X7 and Realme X7 Pro being powered by Dimensity 800U and Dimensity 1000+. Although the company is making plans to bring the new generation 5G ready phones in the market, India still does not have the 5G network currently operable.

When it comes to user security, two-factor authentication, and one-time passwords through OTP are some of the most used and preferred security measures. Not only that, it is used by almost every digital company that exists today. However, Microsoft is asking its users to avoid using telephone-based multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions like one-time codes sent via SMS and voice calls and instead replace them with newer MFA technologies, like app-based authenticators and security keys.

As per ZDNet, Alex Weinert, Director of Identity Security at Microsoft, the users should start using MFA to secure their online accounts. As per him, there are a lot of security issues with the telephone-based OTP system. Since the OTP is sent through SMS or voice calls, it can easily be intercepted and gained by hackers. Also, the one-time codes are punishable by open source. Since networks are exposed to changing regulation downtime and minor issues, it will have an impact on the availability of the MFA mechanism.

Due to this, Microsoft is now recommending its users to use Microsoft’s Authenticator MFA app which provides them a system key instead of the one-time code. One simply has to use the app and provide the authentication to use the services. As per Microsoft, this method is much more secure and easier for a person to use and will surely safeguard the details of the account in a much better way. Also, since two-factor authentication through telephones has been there for a while, hackers have tried and have been successful to hack it in some instances.

OnePlus has recently launched their new devices in the European market with the name Nord N10 5G and the Nord N100. When it comes to OnePlus, these are one of the first line smartphones to come under the affordable budget category, while the company has always offered premium smartphones. However, the recent experience of the customers with the same phone has not been so great, and are facing many issues while updating them.

While the OnePlus fans were waiting for the company to respond and work on a solution, another news leaked out confirming that both the smartphones will only be updated to Android 11, after which it will not be updated any longer. Both the devices are currently running on Android 10 and as per the updates that the company promises, the phones could have been updated to Android 12 or 13. However, it has now been confirmed that OnePlus will only be making one major update for both these smartphones, which would also be the last one.

The company has been releasing more smartphones in the last few years after the OnePlus 7 than it was doing before. Therefore, they get a lot less time to beta test on new OS and updates for the phone. The information is very disappointing for both the OnePlus fans and also the customers who have purchased the phone, as the company will only look after the smartphone software for one year and once that happens, the phone will not receive any major update.

This year might have been a year full of Windows bugs and issues for Windows 10 users. We have been regularly receiving news about security issues in the Windows operating system that has been exposed for a long time. Also, many new Windows updates this year have caused the Windows operating system to malfunction. It seems that this year is still going to see a lot more of such issues before the year-end. A recent update from Microsoft Windows 10, version 20H2, was released last month, but many users were unable to install it on their system due to the SSD compatibility issue.

The error that comes up on the system is “Your PC has hardware that isn’t ready for this version of Windows 10. Windows Update will automatically offer you this version of Windows 10 once the issue has been resolved.” The problem is mainly common for people with Thunderbolt NVMe SSD and the currently available version of the stornvme.sys driver file. As per the official statement from Microsoft, “On affected devices, when plugging in a Thunderbolt NVMe SSD you might receive a stop error with a blue screen and ‘DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION (e6) An illegal DMA operation was attempted by a driver being verified’.

For now, it is not recommended for users with Thunderbolt NVMe SSDs to update their Windows operating system. Also, since Microsoft is already working on the issue, the resolution for the same can be expected to arrive by the end of November month. Till the time the patch has been released, one should not download and install the Windows update.

Now the company is launching an all-new revamped app for users and this time, it will not be the Insta stories or the post that will have the major focus. The other focus point will be on shopping which will allow the users to increase their business through Instagram. In recent times, we have seen  Facebook focusing more on online business and related features. The same changes have also been noticed recently on WhatsApp where it has got an online shopping icon on the app It shows that the focus on certain features has increased in the Instagram app. It has a new home screen layout where the navigation and top bar shows the features that have been used most often by the users.

Additionally, the two most important buttons on the app are Create and Activity, have been removed and pushed to the top of the UI alongside the DM/Messenger buttons. Those buttons will now be replaced by the Shopping and Reels icon. Apple might suggest third-party apps during setup in iOS 14.3 beta, to settle the antitrust issues.

Antitrust concerns are rising for tech giants like Apple and Google due to their dominance in the operating system category and app markets that are owned and managed by them. Apple has been in the front row, handling a barrel of antitrust concerns throughout this year. Companies like Spotify and Rakuten have already accused the tech giant Apple of giving an advantage to their own apps on the App Store.

However, Apple did reject any of these claims and said that it makes sure that any app in a certain category, be it a third party app or their own gets equal advantage and opportunities to appear in front of the users. Also, the company has been working on a solution for the same and have finally found a solution for the same. As per Apple, the new feature will provide the existing users with proactive recommendations of a third-party application to iPhone and iPad users when they first set up their devices.

YouTube video

However, it will be interesting to see if Apple suggests users Netflix over Apple TV or Spotify over Apple Music. The feature could be a part of iOS 14.3 beta and could be a satisfactory resolution for many companies that have been complaining against unfair advantage to Apple’s own apps. Apple seems to be making a lot of changes to the iOS and iPadOS this year and has been focusing more on the privacy issue and issues which can take care of all the issues raised in the antitrust issue.
