Samsung might be looking to develop a new Exynos chipset which will be based on the 5nm architecture and that could be as powerful or even more than their existing chipsets. The mobile chipset division of Samsung has been very busy in introducing new features in the chipset and creating the next-gen Exynos series. According to AnTuTu citing the source, the 5nm-based SoC is called the Exynos 1080 and it will debut soon. The first phone to feature the new 5nm chipset could be Vivo. It has also been reported that the Exynos 1080 has not been designed and created for the global market.

In Fact, the chipset has been specifically designed for the Chinese smartphone market. It is not the first time Samsung will be doing it. It has developed dedicated hardware for the Chinese market in the past as well through an OEM/Client. It is something that Samsung frequently does with its camera sensors that are specifically designed for this market. However, it does create confusion as to how this chipset will be different from the one they are offering in the global market and how will they tackle the global market with the chipset only designed for China?

Samsung is reportedly working on a new or second 5nm chipset which will be the Exynos 2100, which will be for the global market. The Exynos 2100 will be more powerful than the Exynos 1080. The Exynos 1080 was confirmed by the Samsung China R&D, however, they did not confirm any details about Exynos 2100.

Google Duo has been one of the most efficient video calling apps from Google, which can simply use your contact’s phone number to set up a call. Google has recently been adding a lot of new and useful features to the Google Duo platform. Now, they have added another useful feature for the Android users, which would allow them to share their screen while on a video call with the other person.

A tweet from Google was posted in September, which stated, “Share more moments with your friends on Google Duo Now you can use screen-sharing to browse photos and videos together, and plan activities all while on a video call.””. However, the tweet lasted only a few minutes and was immediately removed from Twitter.

It might have been the case that the features were not yet ready to launch at that time. However, the feature will now be finally launching for the users and it will be added to Google Duo through an update. You can simply tap on the overflow button on the bottom menu of the Google Duo screen, while you are on a call.

Select the Screen Share option from that and you will be able to share the screen of your device. Also, until the screen sharing is active, you will not be able to see the other participant on the phone. The only problem is that the features are currently not available on all Android smartphones, but will be added for all the devices in the future.

Malware has been one of the biggest threats for android smartphones and is something Google has been constantly monitoring to remove such apps. A few days back Google removed 34 such apps from the Play Store which were found to infect the user’s device with Malware. However, this time, it’s Microsoft that is alerting the Android users about the new bug. As per Microsoft, the new ransomware is targeting Android users and is called MalLocker.B. The malware or ransomware is said to be spreading through online forums and websites.

The bug was also found hidden in many malicious Android apps. Therefore, Microsoft has advised the users not to download any kind of such app on their smartphones from a third-party website. The ransomware prevents the users from accessing the phone screen, making the device permanently unavailable for the users. Unlike other ransomware, this does not encrypt the device but freezes the screen with a message that claims to be from a law enforcement agency and asks for a fine to unlock the screen.

The ransomware gets activated when an incoming call comes on the device. Also, when the user presses the home button or the recent app button, the screen will get locked with a message. Microsoft has also confirmed that the new ransomware does not block access to the files but the device’s locked message on the screen will appear on every other window. The only prevention from this type of ransomware is to avoid downloading any software from external sources on the web.

Apple is all set to launch its new range of 5G smartphones and other consumer products in the Apple event on October 13. To make sure that customers are able to order the product and get the delivery in time, the company is starting to use its network of retail stores as distribution centers for shipping to the consumers. It will be specifically beneficial for people who do not have an Apple Store nearby. Previously, Apple shipped devices like iPhones, Macs, iPads, and accessories from warehouses located across a customer’s region or directly from China.

This would take time and used to be more expensive for the company as well. However, now the company will be using its 300 retail stores spread across the US and Canada to deliver the products. It will not only make the delivery process much faster but will also help Apple to complete a huge amount of orders in the least time. It will provide a faster delivery time to people who live further from the distribution centers. Products will be shipped through FedEx Corp and the deliveries might be as fast as the same day of ordering.

However, it will only apply to the consumers who live within 100 miles from the store. The company tested this delivery model as soon as retail stores started opening after Covid-19. Now, since the company is about to launch a whole new range of products, this model will not only help them to complete the shipping in the least time but also cater to the consumers living far away from distribution centers.

Finnish telecommunications giant Nokia has recently joined hands with Tampere university in Finland and to research on a new 5G chipset. Nokia has been busy working on many different products in the past, apart from smartphones. Healthcare, drones, consumer products, and a lot more have been researched over the last few months by the brand. Now the research and development of a new 5G chipset seem to be the next big things from Nokia. Currently, the two major players in the SoC market are Qualcomm and Mediatek, apart from the custom chipsets that are made by Samsung and Apple.

Now if the company decides to work into the 5G chipset market, then we can expect to see a great product from Nokia with the kind of quality people expect from them. It is not yet clear whether the chipset will be made exclusively for Nokia or it can be used by other smartphone manufacturers. However, if the company decides to use it exclusively for themselves, it could further decrease the price of the smartphones and make it much more affordable.

Also, the company has not yet revealed any other details about the chipset that they are planning to develop or till when can expect it to be ready. However, it does seem to be a big step from Nokia to enter the chipset market. We can expect the company to show the new 5G chipset next year in the first quarter and with it a Nokia phone that will be powered by it.

Google Assistant has been one of the best voice assistants in the market. However, the only problem the AI faced on smart displays and android devices is that until now was no support for third-party apps. The AI could only use Google apps to perform the task and could not do it through any other app. However, at the Assistant Developers day on Thursday, Google has introduced two new exciting features for a smart display that has Google Assistant. One of them is deeper integration with third-party apps on Android, which will allow users to open and search apps and do complex tasks like playing music, starting a run, or posting something on social media accounts.

The feature will be available now on all assistant Android phones. The best part about this feature is that it also works with 30 third-party apps on the Play store, with support for more apps to come in the future. Currently, the apps that it supports is Citi, Dunkin, Paypal, Wayfair, Wish, Uber, Yahoo! Mail, Nike Adapt, Nike Run Club, Spotify, Postmates, Grubhub, MyFitnessPal, Mint, Discord, Walmart, Etsy, Snapchat, Twitter, YouTube, Google Maps, Instagram, Twitch, and Best Buy. SO now the user can use the “Hey Google” voice command for third-party apps, like giving the command to tighten the shoes using the Nike Adapt app.

This has opened up a lot of possibilities for this party app developers and now they could use the voice assistant feature of Google to make their apps easily accessible on the phone. The same feature will also be available on Google Smart display where you will be able to use third-party apps using the Google AI assistant. Now the users will be able to make payments through voice commands on the smart display and have also added new voices to Google assistant to make it sound natural.
