When it comes to recycling, Apple has always been committed to using hardware that can easily be recycled and used again. Due to the very same reason, it provides the smartphone to third party companies so that they can be easily recycled back to its original form. However, recently news came by stating that the company which received the older devices for recycling from Apple, was in fact, selling it again to customers, without Apple even knowing about it. It was found that the recycling firm was stealing and reselling their products.

The company is GEEP Canada and its role was to scrape off over half a million units of iPhone, iPads, and Apple watches. However, it was later found that GEEP Canada was wrestling the same products, and more than 1,00,000 products were sold by them. Apple has now claimed a lawsuit against the recycling partner on the accounts of stealing and reselling units. However, the company states that it has not been doing anything out of the bounds and the reselling of the devices was done by three employees, without the company’s knowledge. In fact, GEEP Canada states that they have only been recycling the devices and the theft can only be blamed on the three employees and not the company.

This lawsuit was filed by Apple in January 2020 and the number of devices was 1,03,845, which was also confirmed by Geep Canada. In the lawsuit from Apple, it has been stated that “At least 11,766 pounds of Apple devices left JEEP’s premises without being destroyed a fact that GEEP itself confirmed.“” Apple also confirmed that the products sent for recycling are not safe for the users and can cause damage to them through electrical or battery defects. Currently, GEEP Canada is looking for its three employees who are responsible for the theft, to avoid the lawsuit.

One of the major issues that almost all social networking companies and microblogging sites like Twitter have faced during the Pandemic is the Fake news. In recent times, the amount of fake news that is being channeled through these sources has increased many times. In order to prevent it companies like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp made a lot of changes to their platform for users to identify which information is genuine and which is fake. Even Twitter made a lot of changes to their platform in the last few months to prevent the spread of fake information on their platform.

Now the platform will be adding a “Add to Birdwatch” to their platform, which would allow the users to explain why they think the tweet has misleading or wrong information. The new tool by Twitter is currently under development and will soon be ready for the users. The feature would allow the users to flag tweets, add notes to explain their suspicion, and fill up a survey form that estimates the tweet’s potential harm and reach. The feature was first spotted in August and since then multiple screenshots for the same have already been spotted on the internet.

This feature would give more control to the user and increase the pro-activeness of the users to mark such fake news. The feature would generate a Twitter community form that will have multiple questions that would add to the context of the complaint. The company has also confirmed that they will be sharing more information on the features in the coming days.

When the Pixel phones were launched there was one feature that the company intentionally missed. It was the number of beauty filters that could have been added, but have been left by Google. As per Google beauty filters are bad for the mental health of a person and it is why they decided to leave it out from the Pixel Phones. Google suggests that studies have claimed that beautification of images can negatively affect the mental well-being of a person, particularly if you are looking at a photo and aren’t aware of a filter has been applied.

These beauties are used by people as a standard for beauty with which people often compare themselves. We all know that social media is filled with such images that have multiple beauty filters and people now do not prefer to add their original photo on the platform without adding a filter to it, simply because it makes them beautiful. A similar experience can also be seen on Instagram where photos are edited with beauty filters and they uploaded to the app.

The Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a with 5G, and Pixel 5 are not offering any such beauty filters, instead what they are giving is the retouching tool, which can improve on the nature photo, instead of adding fake beauty touches. Google says that studies with multiple people and kids have revealed that using beauty filter has made people think they are less beautiful, that ultimately leads to stress and mental ill-health. Google does believe in enhancement and will provide tools for retouching in their phones instead of these filters.

When it comes to camera setup the rear camera setup has seen a major improvement over the last few years, when we compare it with the front camera. Since the rear camera setup is on the back, it has a large space to expand and even has more than one lens that could give a portrait, wide-angle, and a lot more features. However, the same cannot be done with the front camera as companies are looking for a full widescreen on the front with almost no edges and bezels.

As we all know the OnePlus 8T is about to launch and it might bring a much better and a next-gen front selfie camera along with it. The news seems to be confirmed as the news came from the OnePlus Twitter page, where the caption “Ultra Wide Angle Camera” was mentioned with a small animated video, which seems to be focusing on the new selfie camera on the phone.
