When it comes to searching for anything online, the first preference for almost everyone is Google. It is why it is one of the most used and popular search engines on the internet. Google has been updating the search engine with almost every possible and latest information you can think of and during the pandemic, it has left no stones unturned to answer questions and queries regarding Covid-19. Google has now decided to add another layer of information related to Covid-19 on its platform.

We all know that global pharmaceutical companies have been trying to develop a Covid-19 vaccine and many of them have even got closer to getting almost 90-95% positive results. Now, when you search Google for Covid-19 vaccines, it will provide you with a list of authorized vaccines and the closest location to the user where they can find information on vaccines as well. The feature will first be rolled out in the UK which was confirmed by Google in the blog post. In the future, it will feature in more countries as other health authorities start authorizing COVID-19 vaccines.

When searched on Google in the UK, people did get a new info panel with top stories on COVID-19 vaccines, answers to common questions, and a list of resources. Google will also provide $1.5 million to fund the creation of a COVID-19 Vaccine Media Hub, apart from $6.5 million given in support for COVID-19 related fact-checking initiatives. The company has also been trying to remove any misleading content about the vaccines from their platforms like Google.

A few days back, Xiaomi announced that they will be launching their next flagship Mi 11 with the Snapdragon 888 chipset. At the same time, their sub-brand Redmi made an announcement that they will also be launching a new premium flagship device, the first in their brand category next year. Now, as per the new reports, Redmi is currently working on Redmi K40 which could be the flagship phone they were talking about. It is also expected that the phone could be going official by the end of this month.

The company has already confirmed the launch of the Redmi K40 Pro in the first quarter of 2021 and is expected to be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. Also, Redmi K40 will be launched using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 series chipset which will launch in early 2021. The launch schedule seems to be very similar to what Redmi followed for the K 30 series, where the Redmi K30 was launched and after a couple of months the Redmi K30 Pro was launched.

Another difference that K40 users will be able to see in the handset is the removal of the popup selfie camera which was used in the Redmi K20 and K30 series. This time, the front display will have a punch-hole cutout on the top and is expected to be an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. With the entry of the Redmi brand in the premium flagship market, we can expect the sub-brand from Xioami to bring out some very powerful smartphones at a great value as well.

Malware attacks have become too frequent, especially after most of the work has shifted to the online platform after the pandemic. Now another malware has been detected by Microsoft that is affecting all the major browsers on the internet such as Google Chrome, Firefox, and even Microsoft Edge. This malware campaign is built to inject fraudulent ads into the search results and siphon off users’ personal information. As per Microsoft, the name of the malware is Adrozek and has been affecting the browsers between the duration of May to September.

As per the official statement from Microsoft, “In total, from May to September 2020, we recorded hundreds of thousands of encounters of the Adrozek malware across the globe, with a heavy concentration in Europe and in South Asia and Southeast Asia.” The malware is capable of modifying the web browsers and especially Chrome, Mozilla, and Edge, which accounts for more than 70% of usage in the world. Microsoft has identified 159 domains through which the malware could be spread easily into the browser along with 17,300 different Urls used for this purpose.

As per the statement from Microsoft, “If not detected and blocked, Adrozek adds browser extensions, modifies a specific DLL per target browser, and changes browser settings to insert additional, unauthorized ads into web pages, often on top of legitimate ads from search engines.” The malware will produce a lot of ads, clicking on which would lead to affiliate pages on the web. It is one of the ways through which attackers earn a lot of money. This malware has been designed to generate illegitimate affiliate revenue. Microsoft has advised the users of these browsers not to download any file from unknown sources on the web and if they think that they are already affected by this malware, then it would be best to uninstall and reinstall the browser again.

Samsung S21 series might not come with a charger in the retail box

After Apple decided to launch their iPhone 12 series without a charger and headphones, it received mixed reactions from both critics and customers. While some thought that this decision would make a positive impact on the environment, some thought that it was a necessary deduction just for making customers buy the charging cable and brick separately. However, it seems like more companies are also going to follow a similar trend.

Something similar has been reported for the new lineup of Samsung Galaxy S21, where it has been reported that the handset will be launched without the charger. The documents from Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency appear to confirm that Samsung won’t be including a charger in the box of the Galaxy S21, S21+, or S21 Ultra in some regions. It would be the first time that this would happen with a premium Android flagship phone after Apple.

There is no doubt there are a lot of environmental benefits to this, it does seem hugely odd to spend a big amount of money on this smartphone and then spending more money to simply buy the charger which will make the phone work. Although this is not an official confirmation, the news has been in the air soon after the launch of the iPhone 12 series, and the first to be a part of these rumors was Samsung. An official teaser of the new S21 series has also been leaked online which provides a lot of details about the design and hardware.

When it comes to Xiaomi, all their phones run on the MIUI interface which has been aimed to make the user experience better and more personalized. Currently, all their phones are running on the latest MIUI 12 over Android 11 and the recent reports suggest that the company is already in the process of developing MIUI 13 and releasing it next year. MIUI 13 is going to be a major version update for MIUI. The Xiaomi community yesterday released the MIUI development version internal beta update instructions – 12.8.

As per the confirmation from the company, we will see the release of MIUI 12.5 before the official launch of MIUI 13. Due to the development, the company will be delaying the development of Redmi 10X, Redmi 10X Pro, Redmi K30 Extreme Commemorative Edition.  It is expected that MIUI 13 will be released in the mid-2021 and the first video of MIUI 13 has already appeared on the web as a leak. The leak shows a lot of details about how the new menu works and how different the interface is going to look.

Therefore, the company is expected to formally announce the arrival of MIUI 13 by next year and the availability of MIUI 12.5 early next year. The reports also confirm that many of the older versions of Xiaomi and Redmi phones will also get the MIUI 13 update, which would date back to Redmi Note 4. It would be fairly interesting to see how such old devices run the new MIUI 13.

Apple Fitness+ will be available from December 14, but the ideal setup cost can leave your pocket empty

Apple announced their new Apple’s Fitness+ streaming service a while back and ever since the announcement, people were excited to know how it will work and what will be the overall cost included. The company has made the announcement about the availability of the service which will be starting from December 14. Apple’s Fitness+ streaming service will cost $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year. The streaming service has been specifically designed and created with tons of workouts, that are based on the different skill levels and can be done through the comfort of your home.

However, the workouts will work best only if you have an ecosphere of Apple devices with you. For example, having an iPhone would be great, but the workouts will not be effective unless you have the Apple watch. Therefore, you will need an Apple TV, the subscription of the streaming service, an iPhone or iPad, and an Apple Watch, which seems to be too much investment for a fitness workout service. The $9.99 per month subscription can be shared with 6 family members at one time, however, the total cost of the Fitness setup, adds a lot of pressure on one’s pocket.

YouTube video

Since you require the Apple watch to measure the metrics and an iPhone to use the Apple Watch, the cost is already more. Also, one can add an Apple Music subscription for guided workout sessions using the specific playlist. You would also need to have a lot of weights and other gym equipment. Therefore, the total cost of an ideal Fitness workout setup could cost a user more than $1000.

Google announced their cloud gaming platform Stadia last year, however, the platform was only available in a few countries to try. The main reason behind it was that the platform still had a lot of issues and bugs and Google has been trying to take the user feedback and bug reports to improve the service ever since. The company has now made the announcement about launching Google Stadia in 8 more countries, which are Austria, Czech Republic Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, and Switzerland.

Initially, Stadia was only available in 14 countries and now the number of countries has reached 22. Google has confirmed that the services will be rolled out in the next 24 hours and after it is available, users will be able to sign up with the Gmail account and simply use it to play on their computers, tablets, and smartphones for free. If you are a new user, you will get a month of free subscription for Stadia Pro, after which the service costs only $9.99 per month.

The games claimed by the user during the free trial remain theirs as long as they renew their subscription. Google will also be adding new free games every month, therefore, there is a lot to play with for free users as well. However, to purchase new and exclusive games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or Cyberpunk 2077, you will need to subscribe to the service. It will be interesting to see if Google uses the same platform or makes a bit of change as per the different countries.
