Elon Musk has a habit of creating and working on new technology that seems only possible in movies and animation and one such technology that he is currently working on is a working brain computer chip for Human-AI symbiosis. The technology will soon be demonstrated this week during a live presentation from his mysterious Neuralink startup. The company Neuralink was founded in 2016 by the billionaire to integrate human brain and AI technology to accomplish unimaginative tasks.

The company only had one event till now where it showed a sewing machine-like device, which is capable of stitching threads into a person’s head. As per the billionaire, the integration and implant of chips in the human brain will be similar to what a Lasik laser eye surgery is, and will be performed by a robot for accuracy and precision. The working brain chip will be unveiled on a live webcast at 3PM(PT) on Friday. Elon Musk also said that the surgery will also get easier, similar to Lasik laser surgery in the coming years. He also mentioned that the live webcast will show neurons firing in real time.

The technology has already been tested on animals and the results have proven to be very optimistic. After the webcast the company will also open itself for human trials. As per the billionaire, technology could help us to heal various brain related issues and other mental issues. It would also allow the humans to hear beyond normal frequencies and amplitudes.

Apple has been prepping up for the launch of the new iPhone 12 this year, which is suspected to happen in October 2020. However, the next set of news was something no one was expecting to hear from Apple. Apple is planning to discontinue the iPhone XR smartphone in September, however, no official announcement for the same has been made yet. The discontinuation might happen as soon as the new iPhone 12 model hits the Apple stores. The decision might have been taken due to the outdated hardware and less demand for the phone.

The iPhone XR model was debuted in the year 2018 and since then has been known fro providing a good value for its cost. The device shared a lot of goof features with the like of iPhone XS. But in terms of sales, the phone did not put a good number when compared to the iPhone XS. Also, after the company released iPhone 11, the sales of this handset seem to be decreasing further, as people are ready to buy the new iPhone model instead of this. The new iPhone models have a better camera, newer chipset, and a lot of new features to support, such as better battery life. Due to this issue, the sales have been constantly decreasing for the XR model.

Therefore, if you see it from Apple’s perspective there is no need to continue with this model any longer as it is also affecting the sale numbers for the newer models. Apple will soon be giving an official confirmation for the discontinuation of the iPhone XR model, until then we can only wait for their announcement.

Apple ordered by District court not to close the developer account for Epic Games, Fornite continues to remain off the App Store

In the ongoing feud between Apple and Epic Games, the district court has ordered Apple not to block Epic’s Unreal engine which is used by various apps on the App store. However, the popular game Fortnite remains to be off the App Store. U.S. District Court Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers said Apple can’t retaliate against Epic Games by blocking the gaming firm’s developer accounts or restrict developers on Apple platforms from accessing the widely-used Unreal Engine tools.

The effect of banning the developer’s account will show major damage for both Epic games and other third party developers who are using Unreal Engine. The court also stated that the action on Fortnite is justified as the company did break the rules of the App store, but it did not breach any contracts related to the Unreal engine and developer tools. The court also mentioned that the game Fortnite will remain off the App Store unless the company brings the games in accordance with the App Store rules and regulations, only after which it can be published back on the platform of App Store.

The issue started earlier this month when Apple removed Fortnite from the App Store for using its own payment method, instead of using Apple’s payment platform which also had a 30% commission that Epic had to pay Apple for every in-game purchase. With Apple removing the app from the App Store, the issue spread like wildfire, with Epic Games complaining against the monopoly the App store is having over the market. Many companies like Facebook and Xbox have also come in support for Epic Games and have objected to App Stores’ action against them.
