Twitter has been trying to make the platform feature-rich by adding new features developed by them and also by integrating third party services for the users. As per the recent update, the company has added a custom share sheet to its iOS clients, that replaced the operating system’s native solution, causing some disgruntled reactions. The same changes have now been brought to the Android version of the app as well. In the update, the users will be able to notice two major changes in the UI, which will be replacing the application’s already existing custom share sheet.

The existing custom share sheet feature allows a user to send tweets to a selection of recent contacts via direct messages, and you can add content to your bookmarks or copy a link to a tweet. To share the tweet on a different app, one simply has to select the option of “Share Tweet via“”. The new UI changes keep the option in a different row and include a shortcut to the system share sheet. Also, it will add another row with direct sharing options to other apps.

The changes will also allow you to keep the previous custom shortcuts and it puts all but the “Send via Direct Message” buttons in the same row as other apps. The variation and changes in the Android version of the app are almost identical to what one can experience in the iOS version as well. However, you will not be able to hold the share button to open the system share sheet in Android, as available in iOS.

However, since it was the first generation of chipsets from Apple, it was bound to have some minor issues and scope of improvement that every first-generation product has. But if you thought that M1 is going to reign the Macbook lineup for a while, then you thought wrong.

Although it only has been a few days since the M1 chipset was announced, the company has already started working on the next generation of the M1 chipset called the “M1X” for now. As per one of the tipsters called the @LeaksApplePro, the M1 chipset was just the beginning and the company is working on a second-generation that is going to be much more than an upgrade and will provide a bigger improvement in performance.

Rollable displays seem to be the new talk of the town as many companies have now started showing off their development and work on the same. Ever since foldable smartphones have come into the market a couple of years back, the development of rollable and bendable screens has increased by a lot. A few days back Samsung officials were spotted with a new phone having a rollable screen, which was obviously a prototype, after which Oppo unveiled a concept where the screen on the phone could roll down to minimize or stretch the screen size.

Now it seems that LG is also working on a similar concept, where they have recently patented a 17-inch laptop with a rolling display. LG already has a rollable TV on its high-end Signature lineup starting at $60,000 and they have filed for a Rollable name as well for such devices. The patent filed by LG shows a new laptop form factor that has a 17-inch display that rolls up to stow away. The display size will be able to roll and stretch to a size of 17 inches from 13 inches and vice versa.

The patent also reveals that the design would allow the keypad and touchpad to fold onto itself to take up even less space when idle or not being used. There is currently no news from LG as to revealing a similar concept for its users, but it seems that the year 2021 will be a year for devices with rollable screens.

Facebook-owned Instagram has been adding a lot of focus on Reels, the e-commerce feature within the app that would allow the users to sell products directly. As per the new feature they have added to the platform, creators can add tags on their Reels and Live Instagram videos to include paid partnership tags and promote a certain brand they have been using in the video. The branded content tag in Reels has been launched for the users and will be tested on Instagram Live in a few weeks.

The new feature will allow the creators to show the “Paid partnership with” tag, including the name of the brand right below the creator’s name in Reels.  The same approach will also be followed in Instagram Live videos. The company will also be launching a new workflow where the advertisers will be able to create a branded content ad with the need of any creator and post it simply to Instagram as a user. The process would include an advertiser to send an ad creation access to the creator and after acceptance, the creator needs to approve the ad and make it live by the brand, without having to have the creator post the said Branded Content ad.

YouTube video

Instagram will also be adding branded content ads in Stories where creators can add elements like @mentions, location, and different hashtags. It seems like the future of Instagram is changing from simply sharing posts and images to complete e-commerce-like platforms that would allow users to sell their brands and products through multiple platforms owned by Facebook.
