Cloud gaming services seems to be the new industry that every company wants to jump into. With Google and Microsoft already into the market, it seems like Amazon is also ready to have their market share. Just like Google Stadia and Microsoft’s xCloud gaming platform, Amazon has recently announced its new cloud gaming service called Luna. Although it was already rumored that Amazon was working on similar services since last year, they have finally announced the finished product.

The company has made it clear that the services will be available to PC, Mac, Fire TV, and iPhone and iPad (via web apps), with an Android version. Currently, there is no word on when the services will be available for international users, but we can expect that soon in the coming months. The company has also announced that the users who want early access to the platform in the US can request it. The gaming service will be made available for users at an introductory price of $5.99 per month, which will only be applicable in the early phase.

It will allow the users to play Luna Plus Channel games across two devices at once. It will offer the gamers with 4K/60FPS resolution for some titles as well. The entire Luna platform is supported by AWS and will have more than 100 game titles at launch. Some of the gaming titles that will be available are Resident Evil 7, Control, Panzer Dragoon, A Plague Tale: Innocence, The Surge 2, Yooka-Laylee, GRID, Abzu, and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.

Luna has also partnered with Ubisoft and players who subscribe to Luna will have access to some of their games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, and Immortals Fenix Rising the same day they release, in 4K resolution. The games could be played using a mouse and keyboard, or simply using a controller. The company has also announced its Alexa-enabled Luna Controller which can be purchased at just $49.99. Meanwhile, the company is also planning to add new titles to the platform which has been developed by Amazon themselves.

Google Maps has been one of the best online navigation apps that are internationally used by people to navigate from one place to another. Google Maps is so popular as it has been one of the most reliable platforms in its category. Now Google Maps is adding a new feature to the existing app, which would allow the user to see Covid-19 infected areas and decide the route based on that. The new feature from Google Maps shows the number of COVID cases in an area and gives a selection to the users to go on the existing route or select an alternate one that does not go through the infected area.

The feature has been added to the platform this week and will inform the users on what to do and where to go. The feature has initially been launched in the US market and the data regarding the active COVID cases have been taken from multiple authoritative sources, John Hopkins, the New York Times, and Wikipedia. All these sources get the data from the WHO (World Health Organisation), government health ministries, along with state and local health agencies and hospitals.

The new feature allows the users to see the number of COVID patients in the area by tapping on the layers button. The user will be able to see a seven day average of the infection rate and on whether it has decreased or increased. There will also be a color-coding option to distinguish between highly affected areas and normal areas.

Everyone is waiting for Apple to launch its all-new range of iPhone 12 in October. Some speculation does provide the date of October 13 for the launch, however, many think that the launch date will be forwarded to October 20. We already know from a lot of leaks and other details that the company will be launching four different variants of the Apple iPhone 12 series, which will be iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Now what most of the experts believe is that the iPhone 12 mini can turn out to be the weak link when it comes to the performance and iOS experience. Some details of the iPhone mini had already been leaked, which states that the phone will have a 5.4-inch screen with a weaker chipset due to cost-cutting. Claims have already come in with the details of a new B14 bionic chipset which Apple has created from their mid-range devices.

Apple expects that phone to be one of their best selling models this year due to the low-cost affordability. However, the users will have to go through a much lower performance than that expected from an iPhone. It is also believed that the same B14 chipset which will be used in the iPhone 12 mini, will be used in the new iPhone SE Plus model in the future. The midrange chipset will open the dimension to a lot of new mid-range products from Apple as well.

WhatsApp is used daily by millions of users where the company emphasizes on the privacy and security of their data. However, after the release of WhatsApp chat for Deepika Padukone and many other celebrities in public, related to the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death cases and the Drug case, speculation has been made that WhatsApp is providing third party access to the users chat and does not secure the user’s data as mentioned.

Replying to this situation, WhatsApp has clearly stated that its messages are protected and no third party can access them. The issue actually came into the public eye after the Narcotics Control Bureau managed to access old messages during its investigation into the Bollywood drug angle, an offshoot of the Sushant Singh Rajput case. Based on the past WhatsApp chats of many celebrities and Jaya Saha, the Narcotics Control Bureau was able to summon a lot of people and also exposed their connection with the Drug Mafia.

WhatsApp cleared that their end-to-end encryption does not allow even them to read any message that you send to different users. Also, the company encourages people to use security measures like strong passwords or biometric IDs to prevent third parties from accessing content stored on the device. The company has made it clear that it has not provided any information about its users and it still remains as protected as it was before. However, they have no control over someone getting access to the mobile device and getting access to all the past messages.

Among the many other things that Amazon launched in their event, the company also launched an all-new home drone. The drone is meant for constant surveillance and will keep flying around the home to make sure that it covers the entire home. The multi-camera drone flies from room to room surveilling your abode from overhead. The drone is called Ring Always Home cam and has been specially designed for customers who did not want multiple cameras set up in every room or they did not have any power outlets to support them.

The drone has been programmed to check any kind of disturbance in your home and check it immediately. Whenever a disturbance is detected in your home, the drone will immediately launch and fly to where the noise came from or the incident is. The device could turn out to be a great addition to home surveillance without even having a need to place cameras everywhere in the house. The drone could easily give intruder alert and can detect whether the disturbance was created by a human or an animal.

The only issue that could cause a problem for the device is the partnership with the law enforcement agencies which actually provide them with a surveillance network in every home. It is a kind of surveillance network that places dangerous burdens on people of color and feeds racial anxieties in local communities, as mentioned by Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts to Amazon. The company has clearly mentioned that it will be completely the customers’ choice on whether they want to share the footage with the local police and it will not be a feature forced upon them.

The new and updated Fire TV stick will not have a faster SoC chip form the previous Fire TV Stick 4K. It will provide a much faster performance with the new quad-core CPU and better GPU.

A few days back Google launched their all-new office setup for Google Meet, which included a bunch of hardware which could transform a meeting room completely enabled with Google Meet video conferencing software and hardware supporting it. The complete setup included a screen, speakers, and touch devices for more control. Since video conferencing has become a major part of any office during the time of the pandemic, a professional setup like this could actually make a lot of sense in an office. or something that can also be set up at any location.

Now even Zoom is planning to offer something very similar to what Google Meet has been trying to do. Zoom has recently joined hands with BenQ for creating top of the line conferencing displays. The company will now be providing certified video conferencing displays for modern meeting rooms. The company claimed that the integration of the two companies will bring work efficiency and provide seamless interactive telecommunication through video conferencing. All new BenQ displays will enable remote screen sharing, content collaboration, and whiteboarding with notes.

Apart from such features BenQ will be regularly working with Zoom to create and develop new features for their dedicated hardware which can be provided to the setup through future updates. The company’s expectation with the integration is very high and they expect to cover a large amount of the market with the technology they would be providing as a packaged product. Amazon introduced its latest generation of smart speakers with Alexa assistant in the Amazon Hardware show. Among all the Amazon echo shows, which is one of those smart speakers with a 10-inch screen, will not be able to stream Netflix as well. It’s not the first service that will be able to stream on the amazon echo show. The device was able to stream online streaming platforms like Amazon Prime Video and Hulu. Netflix will be the third platform that will be able to run on the device.

In the last few months, Netflix has been trying to expand and become a part of every streaming device that is being launched the world over. This strategy has in fact helped them a lot during the last six months where they have seen a large number of new users on their platform. Adding themselves to Amazon devices would create more areas of expansion for the streaming platform. The development was announced by Amazon during the annual Echo event where the company also unveiled the new generation of Echo devices.

The users will be able to use voice search and start streaming on Netflix through their devices. The price of Amazon Echo Show 10 has been priced at $249.99 in the US and Echo Show 8 at Rs, 9,499 in the Indian market. It is expected that Amazon will bring more services and streaming partners to its Amazon Eco environment to make the users more dependent on the device to view entertainment as well.

After Google and Microsoft denied moving their online gaming platforms on the App Store, Apple made a lot of different changes to its App Store policies to provide more relaxation to the app developers. Although it did not change the decision of Google and Microsoft, as they believed the changes made by Apple were not user friendly, the company is trying its level best to bring both the online gaming platform to Apple. In the series of doing so, Apple’s Safari browser added support for the Google Stadia controller in beta.

In the latest preview version for macOS. support for Google Stadia was noticed. It seems to be very unbelievable for Apple to do so as a few days back both the company was not on a common term. However, it seems it might have happened due to the launch of Amazon’s online gaming platform Luna as Luna runs as a web app on iOS, which Amazon worked directly with Safari engineers to develop. The changes in the safari browser make it seems like Google and Apple might have come on some common terms that allowed the Apple engineers to add Stadia support in the Safari browser.

Although nothing has been announced by both the companies, the settings such as HID-based support can be seen in the Safari browser changes, which is also a requirement for Google Stadia. It was also revealed recently that iOS 14 on the iPad can easily run Google Stadia. It seems like both the companies are working in the background and we will soon get more information through the official announcement.

In the last few months, Instagram and Facebook have revealed a lot of information about bugs that were present on the system and could have been a potential risk on users’ data. However, at the time they were announced, they were already resolved and removed from the servers. In similar events, Instagram has revealed yet another major bug that could have allowed hackers to gain full control of the account. It could have led to complete account control and would have allowed the hacker to manipulate direct messages, and posts.

The severity of the bug could be imaged in the sense that it could have also allowed the hacker to access your complete contacts list, along with your phone camera and location data. However, it has yet again been found that the bug was removed by Facebook, which was detected by Check Point’s researchers earlier this year. The bug in question lay in Instagram’s open-source JPEG image decoder, Mozjpeg. Hackers just needed to send an image file to the user’s account in JPEG format.

Once the user downloaded the file and restarted the Instagram app, it would run a remote access tool (RAT) malware come into effect, and attackers could remotely escalate their privilege on the compromised device based on all the device permissions that Instagram has on it. The malware not only affected the file but also sensitive information from the phone such as camera, user location, microphone, storage, and more. As per the researchers, if the bug was found in the app, it would have crashed again and again when the users tried to use it. However, the bug is not available in the latest apps now.
