Cyber-crimes and hacking have become very prevalent and more such attacks and new vulnerabilities are being reported every day. Recently, a report from Bleeping Computer Website stated that there is a vulnerability or bug that could let the hacker hack your printer and the worse part is that there is no security patch developed for it. The new security flaw in the Windows operating system will give control of the printer to the hacker and also provide them the access to the private network.

The bug seems to be associated with the Windows Print Spooler, which managers the printing process. The bug was discovered by researchers of SafeBreach labs and is called CVE-2020-1048. As per them, a patch has already been patched for the same issue in May from Microsoft, but the patch still showed a loophole that could have been exploited and used by hackers. The hackers can simply create a Shadow File and pass it through Windows Print spooler to affect it. Microsoft has acknowledged the problem and has assured that the fix for this will be released by August 11.

However, until then the users are exposed to this kind of bug. The company also confirmed that Microsoft Edge will be included in the recent updates, after which there ill no option to update or uninstall it as it will be a part of the Windows operating system. There doesn’t seem to be many cases that have been reported by the user for printers. However, the company with its update will make sure that such issues do not exist again.

Apple has been prepping up for the launch of the iPhone 12 later this year. But before that, a new rumor has popped up regarding the new patent Apple has just registered. The new feature isn’t exactly new to us. The same feature was revealed in 2018, in the previous generation of Apple watch. The feature is Fall detection and it seems that the company has been able to add a lot of new improvements and innovation in it, leading them to register a new patent.

Apart from the patent, very less is known about the 6 gen series of Apple watch. This Fall detection feature from Apple will be a part of the next generation Apple watch. The feature will send a notification to one of your selected contacts in case it does not recognize any activity after falling down for 60 seconds. The watch will first check if you are alright or not and will try to check your vitals through the device. Once checked, only then will it send the notification or sound the alarm.

The new patent also reveals that the two feature has now been made more effective and precise with almost two years of development. The company has added a new bunch of sensors and has modified the system to understand human behavior and collect more data. The watch measure things like heart functions (ECG, EKG), water content, body-fat ratios, galvanic skin resistance, and combinations thereof, etc, which will help to improve the Fall detections feature.

The feature is going to promote the watch as a perfect health companion for the consumers, but the question remains on whether it will be seen in Apple Watch 6. Since it is right now a patent, chances are very slim and it can come in generation 7 of Apple watch.

Android phones are great when it comes to customization and a lot of features. However, the operating system does have a certain amount of flaws that does decrease the user experience. One of such issue is bloatware, which is added to the stock phone by smartphone manufacturers. Bloatware are company installed apps out of which only a few can be removed completely and some cannot. However, with time smartphone manufacturers did understand the problem and now the number of bloatware on smartphones has reduced by a lot.

Also, this bloatware now has an option to remove them completely from the phone. A similar situation is now faced by OnePlus smartphone users where it has been reported that the phone is coming with OxygenOS bloatware, which the smartphone company is doing with Facebook. The latest OnePlus 8 and Nord come with pre-installed Facebook app and associated background services. The customer now has to deal with the Facebook app and its background services which keep running and consuming resources.

Also, unlike other smartphones, the Facebook app is updating through the Facebook app manager service instead of the Google Play Store. This case is totally new for users as the Facebook app and services do consume a lot of RAM and resources which could bring a log in performance. When other OnePlus phones were checked it was found out that all come with apps and services from Facebook and are a part of Oxygen OS, rather than an individual app. As per the company, installing such apps in the phone before they are sold, helps in better battery performance.

However, such kinds of bloatware apps are not taken well by the consumers as first they keep consuming internet data in the background and since they are a part of the OS, they auto-update in the background and get access to information about the user without them knowing about it.
